Fireflies
Follow the storyline of Helen while she struggles to save her family from an evil witch and free her family. Helen will use her acrobatics and try to use her tiny size in order to reach locations but be very careful as spiders are lurking about looking for a quick tiny meal!

Varför Early Access?

“Fireflies was originally designed as a Show Project for a Game Developing Course and it was initially called "Follow the Fireflies". Since then , the game has evolved much more than that and a lot of things have been added and optimized however I believe that the game constantly (at it's current stage) needs to evolve into something better and better.
Early Access allows for feedback from the community on what things to include/remove and overall increase the game enjoyment factor. Feedback from the community is always welcomed when done in a constructive manner and everyone can drop a line with their suggestions.

How often do we update the community?
Updates should arrive roughly monthly or bi-monthly depending on the content added and the people involved (like voices etc). Some updates of course will be just bug fixing as currently it is a priority since I am aware that the game has quite a log of bugs and I AM TRYING to remove as many as I find.
Before each update is done , I will be posting a small portion of what I wrote down to be fixed depending on the severity of the bug (ie: A game breaking bug has more priority than a location that Helen could get stuck in an animation or if a tree is flying)”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“Depending on the amount of support/help/feedback that I get the estimation will change. I expect roughly the game to be in Early Access for about 12 months before it goes into full version. This time-frame should allow for enough testing and feedback from the community so I can add any additional features and mostly to fix bugs and extend the gameplay time.”

Hur är det tänkt att den fullständiga versionen ska skilja sig från versionen i Early Access?

“I am planning on additing :
1. At least 2 more locations like the Basement and the full Forest.
2. The heroine having different Skins which will be unlocked for reaching certain secret locations
3. Alternative extreme ways to reach a location like using a paraglider (paper airplane) or zip-line
4. Cloud Saving
5. Steam Achievements
These are just a few of the things that I am planning on adding but all depends on the feedback from the community as I am very focused on eliminating as many bugs as possible first and adding material 2nd.”

Hur är det nuvarande läget i versionen med Early Access?

“Currently the game only contains the main base of the game. This includes the Yard and the House with the heroine plot ending once she manages to enter the house.”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“Yes , the final price of the game will be higher as I plan to gradually increase the price once the game has more gameplay time added and more bugs removed.”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“The community and feedback is the world to me and I take it personally to read every single feedback (good or bad) and try to expand on the good parts and improve/fix the bad parts.
The community is ofcourse the Steam Forum / Discussions and I will be posting there update info and collecting feedback from there.

Fireflies is a game about surviving inside a spider-infested yard, while being tiny and trying to reverse the magic spell that was done to you so you can return back to normal size and save your family.

Helen and her family , were lost in the woods and found refuge in an old secluded house that belong to an evil witch. The witch , tricked Helen and her family to drink a magical potion that made everyone really small so she can later turn them into voodoo dolls that she can use for her magic. Helen realized something was wrong and she quickly fled the house while the potion was still taking effect on her. The evil witch being too small and too weak to chase Helen , she send her loyal followers , the spiders, to chase Helen and bring them back to her. Helen was caught by a spider but with the help of some mystical fireflies she managed to escape. The fireflies now are helping Helen so she can rescue her family, return them back to their non-voodoo doll self and also return her back to her normal size.

Follow the storyline of Helen while she struggles to save her family and then return to her normal size.
See the plot and how and why these magical fireflies are aiding her.
Be chased by various spiders and try to solve the puzzles to proceed to the next part of the yard , basement, well and forest!

Cutscenes being chased or eaten by spiders (No Gore showed besides occational blood splatters inside locations)

Just a small team at the moment, but I am very committed to providing the following planned Features:

Adding Basement/Well and further expanding the forest so it can be explored.
Further expanding the dialog/voices and adding more plot and lore
Adding secret rooms
Adding Skins for Helen and even some spiders

    • Ytterligare anmärkningar: The game is quite light to run on the lowest setting but a dedicated graphics card is still need to be able to run smoothly
