What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“In my mind, Deep Russian Depression is a service-based game with a long lifespan, gradually adding new RenPy technologies and game stories that haven't yet been written. I'm working on the project at a leisurely pace, but I still see it as my mission: to preserve the stories of people who are unlikely to be remembered in the future, and to realize my creative potential.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“In the current plan, the game will be in Early Access till February, 2028. That's means, game will be in Early Access two years.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to complete full Main story and tens of Custom Stories.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Now you can read one custom story and prologue to main story and leave your feedback on whether you like this type of content.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“First and foremost, we'll be collecting community feedback on their gaming experience and conducting surveys that will determine the game's future development. We'll also be collecting the best illustrations through the Steam Hub, which will also be used in the game (with users' permission, of course). If a user shares an interesting story, we'll use it in the game.”
