Miksi Early Access?

External-Dimension: Mainframe is a game inspired by the "Megaman Zero" Series. We wanted to deliver an experience that was like the action-platformers from the early 2000s. We hope to delivery a fast pased action packed and challenging experience that share some elements from the series it draws inspiration from

Player feedback is important as this will guide us in what should be reworked or expanded as that is our reason for opening up the development process with those who wish to join us on this journey.

We can't see everything that may be an issue or may be something we need to improve upon. More eyes on the game will help us deliver the best possible experience to the players and will be what we work towards each day.

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

We estimate that early access will last no more than a year and will be working to get the combat system and story completed during this time. However as we make updates and changes it is likely that plans will need to be changed based on feedback received or issues that may arise.

Story

A Data Center known as Spectrum-016-88, a region in the norther cluster of Mainframe, has come under attack by an emerging group. Similar attacks have been levied in recent months in other Data Centers. These attacks are lead by a group who call themselves, +ERRoR. A newly founded organization known as Console has taken control of public order and safety in response to the emergence of +ERRoR.

Over time public trust in Console wains as the attacks grow more frequent and destructive as +ERRoR always seems to be one step ahead of them. Despite the efforts of Oracle's Data Scanners, +ERRoR has gained more influence in a short span of time. They are now on equal footing with them and now the public has begun to question their authority as well as their actions. Within Console a growing suspicion looms–a person of great influence must be backing +ERRoR. Frame takes matters into his own hands to put a stop +ERRoR’s assault before all of Mainframe is destroyed.

Mechanics

Data Scanners have a wide array of movement options that allow them to move through Zones quickly.

Data Scanners have access to 2 unique movement mechanics that can be employed to get through Zones.

R-Dash, allows Data Scanners to cling to ceilings or the underside of a platform and can be used to bypass large gaps where simply jumping may not be safe

W-Trans, allows a Data Scanner to phase or teleport through certain walls of a particular width.

In addition to those movement options, Data Scanners have access to a Secondary Jump, Wall Slide, Wall Jump, Back Dash, Fast Fall, Burst Movement and a number of hidden movement options that only skilled user can make use of.
