What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Ortharion: The Last Battle is a new version of Ortharion Project where the community had been a great help to go in the right direction. I plan to improve the concept by working more on the quality of the game as well as on the number of possibilities and the exploration of the world.

New game systems are going to be added compared to Ortharion Project, so it will also be a question of seeing if this mixture of genre and idea is received correctly by the community and making the necessary changes to make the game the most fun. and as intuitive as possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm planning on a little over 3 years of early access, or a release in 2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Version 0.1 which will be released during Early Access will contain the game basics, as well as 25% of the total game content in terms of world.
Many new areas will be available, new classes, an increase in the number of items and talents to increase the number of possibilities and replayability.
In addition to increasing the content present, new content will also be added, such as the management of an adventurer's guild with a crafting system.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Version 0.1 which should be released at the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023 will be in the following form:

A camp that the player can develop, several game modes will be available in this camp allowing to test all the bases of the game.
The game's campaign will be little developed: only 4 of the 16 zones offered in the game will be available and that in a non-final version.

The goal is to offer a gameplay loop that is already very accomplished and then improve the visuals, vary the playing styles, and make exploration ever more interesting, both visually and in terms of reward.

So the player will already be able to have high level characters at the launch of Early Access but the content will become repetitive probably after 10 hours.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't plan to change the price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Any new game ideas are welcome, whether for content additions but especially for changes to the content currently present.
Balancing is important so please let us know if your preferred class is not powerful enough compared to others so that we can fix it.

Some additional content may be donated to the community, content that will only be available during Early Access.”

About This Game

Ortharion: The Last Battle is a single-player hack'n slash RPG in a medieval fantasy world, choose your different combinations of classes and equipment to be as powerful as possible, explore a vast world and overcome all the most powerful challenges and bosses!

Competitive modes: The game was designed around a ranking system. You have to accumulate points and can compare them to your friends or the community with a season system.

Easy to learn, hard to master: Intuitive handling, with several mechanics based on learning rules, whether from the world, from the adventurers' guild with management of new companions, but also the mechanics of your character or enemies.

Over 350 upgradeable spells: Spells must be found and learned, and come in 6 rarity types and can level up. Learning requires certain statistics and special classes. Spells found and already learned also have their uses.

Class evolution: Start with one of the 3 classes available at the start of the game, gradually choose new classes, giving you different advantages to finally choose 7 specialties at the same time among the 39 offered, for an almost infinite number of possibilities.

More than 50 monsters with different abilities: Fight a few monsters at the start to later manage several dozen at the same time in the highest levels.

15 major bosses to face: Bosses are divided into two categories. The normal bosses which will be a small passing challenge and 15 major bosses which will leave little room for error and where each confrontation is planned to last several minutes with several combat phases.

Procedurally generated objects: Each object can have particular effect, belong to a set, have a rune word or a gem, making the number of combinations greater than in other hack'n slash games. The statistics are also random and distributed by Tiers. A consumable-based customization system is also available.

Talent trees: Each Ortharion fragment gives you a point in talent trees which will allow you to go even further in the customization of your character. The talent trees are specific to each class with very specific points and other more generic points.

High-level content: Participate in several high-level systems at the same time as participating in the campaign, boss arena, monster wave, random dungeon, objective protection, etc.

Several difficulty levels adjustable whenever you want.

Explore the world : Improve your character by exploring and discover all the secrets it contains.
