Miksi Early Access?

We want The Grip of Madness to be a fantastic game. We believe the best way to make an amazing game is to include players in the development process. Releasing The Grip of Madness in Early Access helps us involve players in the development process.

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

Assuming a team member doesn't become possessed and turns against us, the game will be in Early Access for 8 to 12 months.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

The full version of the game will be expanded upon with:
  • An up to 8 player experience
  • Additional characters with unlockable abilities
  • New procedurally generated settings
  • Additional monsters and monsters with differing personalities alongside additional traitor abilities
  • A randomized ritual system and side rituals that can alter the state of the game.
  • Increasing difficulty through a deep progression system
  • Introduction of Sigils, modifiers that alter gameplay.
  • A crafting system for building items needed completing rituals.

We will add these features & content to the Early Access version as we continue to update the game.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The primary focus for us has been on building the core gameplay. At this point, this is mainly complete.

The current game features static and procedurally generated maps, four fully-playable characters (equipped with unique abilities), randomized Ritual objectives, traitor abilities to help the possessed player subvert Rituals, and four different Invaders equipped with unique abilities.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

At the start of the game’s Early Access release, the price will reflect the state of the game. We plan to increase the price after major content updates and additions.

We want to get players involved in the discussion by providing feedback via our Discord server on bugs and also potential improvements we can make to the game.

In a quaint midwestern town in 1987, a cultist group has been performing dark rituals and is trying to set off the end of the world as we know it. Now they have opened the Tears, and the Invasion has begun! It’s up to you and your band of friends to clean up the mess. One small catch: not everyone on your team can be trusted. One of you will turn against the rest and try to stop you!

  • Cooperative Multiplayer with Betrayal! Work with (or against) a team of up to four players and save the world from interdimensional horrors. But beware, dark powers will corrupt one of your friends.
  • Get to crafting! Nothing is plentiful; you’ll have to be resourceful, craft items needed for the ritual, or survive!
  • Randomized rituals! Ritual objectives get randomized each round along with side rituals that can help or hinder the team.
  • Procedurally generated and randomized environments will keep you guessing and wondering what horrors lurk around every turn.
  • Alter reality! Using the sigil system, players can modify gameplay to their liking or let it be their worst nightmare.
