Alien Colosseum is a fighter management simulator where you take on the role of Ludus manager. You will be responsible for recruiting and training fighters to participate in the arena. When the fight begins, you then control the fighter and must win against a variety of enemies.

„Alien Colosseum is an ambitious project developed by one person. I admit, I had little developing experience when I started this project almost 2 years ago. However, I believe this is a game that combines many elements from different genres to create a new experience for players to enjoy. Since I will be trying new gameplay elements not commonly seen combined in one game, I believe it will be important to have player feedback on which features are most enjoyable and allow input on what I will add next.

Additionally, this game involves many stats for the player to improve and resources to gain. Therefore, it is difficult to test all the possible combinations of weapons, armors, and classes against the wide variety of enemies on my own. So, especially in the beginning I will need help from the community to keep the game balanced and fun.”

„It should take 10 to 12 months to finish implementing the base features and reach the point of what I envisioned the final product to be. This can change with community feedback.”

„I will improve and expand the features currently in place or planned, focusing on what the community wants.
This means:

More weapons and armor pieces to equip
New skills and abilities to use in combat
More Ludus upgrades to train fighters in different ways
Different classes that allow your fighter to use different combinations of weapons and skills
Expand the main story and lore behind the planet and colosseum
Interact with other inhabitants of the planet
Add more fighting animations and slash particles to weapons
Introduce adventure missions where the player chooses a fighter to explore an area and receive rewards
- This gameplay will be in the form of dungeon exploration found in many RPG’s
Allow the player to recruit fighters from other species that will have unique skills and classes
Add different arenas to fight in
Increase options for customizing Ludus manager who represents the player
Steam Workshop support and achievements

Change the Ludus manager’s name, gender (body parts only, pronouns are not used) and skin color.
Recruit and train up to three different fighters at one time

„Feedback will allow me to understand what the community wants from this project and what they are currently enjoying or having problems with. The main source of communication will be through the Steam community posts and ideally some form of in game voting system for new features. I plan on creating more social platforms for my company and game but currently we only have a website which you can contact me on. I will change this as more platforms are added.”

Story So Far...

In the year 2121, a space craft seemingly appeared from nowhere and start drifting around the earth's orbit, it appeared the ship was abandoned with no sign of a crew on board.

It was discovered the ship held transmission logs which discussed a planet with useful resources. Interests peaked and the world wanted to learn more about this planet and its conditions.

The year is now 2521… Earth salvaged technology from the alien vessel and created a new ship which is approaching the alien planet. The crew receive a message congratulating them on their arrival and are told where to land their ship. The planet is full of life with many different forms. Once they land, their new situation is explained by the Planet AI.

Earth must now participate in a form of gladiatorial combat against lifeforms from other planets who also accepted the invitation to fight. The crew must now manage a Ludus where they will train fighters to compete in the arena and discover the secrets of the colosseum.

Gameplay Features

This game is a combination of genres including RPG, Resource Management, Storytelling, and Fighting.

• Take the role of Ludus manager and ensure your crew is victorious in the arena, while showing your own style.

• Recruit multiple fighters to train with thousands of possible characters to choose from.

• Train fighters and win fights to level up different classes, providing access to new classes, skills, and weapon types.

• Advanced technology gives access to a variety of skills which can be used by fighters as they level up classes.

• Manage resources won in fights to build upgrades to the Ludus and unlock different features

• Win to gain fame, get the attention of other lifeforms, and possibly learn more about them but ultimately discover why this arena exists and who is running the show.

• Equip a wide variety armor to protect and change the look of your fighters.

• Each weapon type will change the fighters moves and with over a dozen types there will always be a new way to fight.
