“A well-designed and interesting space station builder that currently needs some better tutorialization.”

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“While many of the basic mechanics in Deep Space Outpost are complete, there are still lots of advanced mechanics and systems to add for it to become a fully-rounded experience.

Early Access allows us to get your feedback as early as possible to shape Deep Space Outpost into the best game we can.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early access is expected to last at least 12 months. We want to keep working on Deep Space Outpost until it delivers a satisfying gaming experience.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have a lot planned during the Early Access period. We'll continue to improve existing features while also implementing new ones, with the purpose of expanding the gameplay experience.

These are some of the features we are hoping to implement:-

- Expanded sandbox, additional scenarios.
- More buildable items (defenses, production).
- Expand station to support human crew (crew quarters, food supply).
- More events (pirate attacks, space anomalies).
- Trade with passing ships (and fix/salvage them).
- Research or upgradability of items.
- Remappable controls, multi language support (*).

(*) Accessibility - If anyone has any accessibility issues playing our game, please get in contact with details, so we can add more options so you can play more easily.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Our current build of Deep Space Outpost provides a sandbox mode and several scenarios (with seed generated levels). Many of the core mechanics are implemented, including: resource gathering, refining, building infrastructure and space threats.

Our demo is updated alongside our early access build (generally), so do give that a try. Demo features an restricted sandbox mode, (no load/time limited).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Our current pricing is to encourage those people who want to be part of the early access process and help shape Deep Space Outpost. Price is being raised gradually over the months, as features are added, and we approach full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're releasing via Early Access as we want your feedback. We’d love to hear from you and there are several places you can reach us to do that. Use any of our channels: Steam Community, Itch, YouTube, Twitter. You can follow our updates and progress through these.”

About This Game

"Welcome commander to your first non simulated mission. You are in control of our mining startup station, which has just reached our licensed territory in this sector. Mission begins now."

Deep Space Outpost is a sci-fi base builder with resource gathering and base management. Create your space station, mine asteroids for resources and make your mission a success.

Features:-

  • Build your own space station tile by tile. Start with a small startup craft and expand to achieve your mission.
  • Current game modes:- sandbox, several scenarios and station builder.
  • Gather resources by mining asteroids or capturing passing meteoroids/scrap. Refine into building materials, water, fuel and oxygen.
  • Manage your power production and usage. Watch out for solar storms and electrical damage.
  • Build defense turrets to protect your station from space threats such as pirates and meteoroids.
  • Trade resources with passing trader ships.
  • Job management - Prioritize worker droids to repair, build, transport or deal with emergencies.

We want to expand this list greatly, take a look at the Early Access section for details of our roadmap and Steam discussions to see what we're currently working on.
