Why Early Access?

“Community feedback has been important to us from day one, and feedback from playtesters has been a major factor in driving development since we started testing in 2020. Now, Hammerheart has entered a stage at which the best way forwards is in the hands of players, with their experiences and opinions aiding our decisions as we prepare more content for the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Hammerheart is expected to be in Early Access until roughly December 2022.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“A run without dying in the full release version is planned to take about three times long as a run in Hammerheart's current state. Planned features include more weapons, companions and enemy types, utility items and implementation of armour, a more fleshed out narrative and more locations with visual and gameplay differences. Ultimately, we are driven by community feedback and many features may be changed or added depending on the experiences of Early Access players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The gameplay mechanics and loop are in place and well-refined, and we are working on adding more length and variety to the experience with new items, characters and locations. Please see the "About This" section for details of the features in the early access build.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price is likely to increase throughout Early Access as more content is added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player experiences are the driving force of Hammerheart's development. They help us to decide what features to focus on and help us come up with new ideas to enrich the gameplay experience.
