「We're a small team making a big and messy game that we really want to resonate with people. The best thing we can do to achieve that is bring players into the fold as early and often as we can. Early access is our way of allowing the game's community to grow along with us and be a part of Midautumn's development journey. With your help, we'll have the best chance at setting correct priorities, making necessary adjustments & tweaks, and most importantly making the game as impactful as we know it can be.」

「We will be in early access until we have our full 5 biomes and narrative chapters implemented. We expect this take around a year more of development time while in early access. We're currently targeting late 2024.」

「We're setting out to make Midautumn as expansive and as rich as we can, so many features are still to be implemented. Right now our roadmap includes the following:

Content updates (new abilities, items, enemies etc.)
Additional Dungeon Biomes
The rest of the game's narrative
More bosses
Changes and improvements to some of the existing systems
Improved optimization and stability
And much more!

「The basic gameplay loop, including combat system, dungeon crawling, and character development, is mostly completed. The current game version includes:

The game's first narrative chapter, which includes over 200 unique narrative events
3-7 hours of narrative content (per one playthrough)
3 bosses
Multiple minibosses that can be discovered by progressing the narrative
The game's first 3 dungeon biome - The Earthen Ruins, The Wooden Refuge and the Lotus Sea
16 base dungeon enemies
Permanent Ability Upgrades

Midautumn is a supernatural game about blasting evil spirits, saving your hometown from gentrification, and Asian diaspora culture. For Robin Lam, crashing at Grandma's was meant to be a break from their responsibilities.

As the newest guardian of the Spirit World, you will absorb the lunar powers of your enemies and reflect it back upon them in order to save your town, and uncover more of the story each time you visit the Spirit World.

In the Spirit World you will meet ancestral spirits seeking your favor. Choose from their dozens of powerful Gifts that enhance your abilities. There are hundreds of viable character builds to discover as you go.

A TOWN LIKE NO OTHER

The town of Nambo Quay is filled with a cast of colorful, larger-than-life characters waiting to welcome you into the community! Deepen your bonds with them, and experience hundreds of unique story events as you learn about what's really going on in this cozy, mysterious town.

SPIRITS HAVE A LONG MEMORY

The ever-shifting Spirit World is different with each visit, but its strongest inhabitants will remember you. Study your Practitioner's Journal in between runs to grow permanently stronger, and surpass the town’s previous guardians and the evil magic practitioner’s vying for the town’s soul.
