为开拓武器出口市场，南非于1994年基于现有的大山猫装甲车开发了一款专用作坦克歼击车的原型，大山猫105。与基础型号相比，大山猫105的主要改进包括更先进的火控系统，热成像夜视仪和一门更加强大的105毫米GT7主炮。这辆轮式坦克歼击车可以使用大约能穿透300毫米装甲的尾翼稳定脱壳穿甲弹（APFSDS），破甲弹（HEATFS）和碎甲弹（HESH）。相比于基础型号，大山猫105的重量增加了大约1吨，而动力系统没有改进。因此，与基础型号相比，大山猫105的加速性能相对较差，但仍然可以达到120公里每小时的极速。同时，这辆轮式坦克歼击车拥有一挺7.62毫米口径的同轴机枪和两具四管81毫米烟幕弹发射器。
