What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“While core features of Kill the King are already planned, testing from users will direct how the game’s systems should be used. Early Access allows players to test out the core multiplayer and physics features, and their feedback will guide the dev team.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Version 1.0 will be released end of 2021 / beginning of 2022.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will implement more of everything, and include general improvements across all systems.

  • More weapons/objects to interact with
  • More maps
  • More enemies
  • A fleshed out story-driven campaign mode
  • Improved progression systems

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is a vertical slice of the core gameplay loop. Players will infiltrate a castle, kill the king, and escape. They are able to do this solo or cooperatively, with scaling enemy difficulty.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will increase after Version 1.0 is released to reflect the amount of new content. No price changes will occur during Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Although the core multiplayer and physics-based interactions are set, the community will ultimately guide the direction of how they would like to use them.

While update videos will be released via YouTube, players can communicate with us through the Quantum Lion Labs, Discord (). The most up-to-date news about the game's progress will be posted there, and players can engage with the community and give feedback in the Kill the King channels.”

About This Game

Kill the King is a cooperative, physics-based, VR sandbox. As a deadly assassin, you must take out the king by sneaking and battling through expansive villages and castles. Physics driven mechanics allow you to pick up anything and use it as a weapon, and traverse the environment by climbing and grappling. With nearly anything and everything at your disposal, the only limitations are your wit and resourcefulness.

Cooperative Gameplay
Play alone or as a team. Queue up with friends or strangers, and battle your way through villages and castles. Adjust your strategies based on your environment and the number of allies on your team.

Physics-based Environment
The physics-based world allows players to creatively interact with their environment. Soft-body physics allows for bow and rope mechanics that feel and behave realistically.

Immersion Inverse Kinematics
With full body IK, players can feel their presence in VR. Precise movement and interaction systems provide users with unparalleled physical interaction with the VR space.
