Why Early Access?

“This is a community project, and it is necessary that the game is developed in line with what the community wants from it. Consequently, its initial state is both flexible and likely to change. The game will remain in early access until it has reached a point where the core functionality won't be significantly altered in future.”

“At the current rate of development, the game is expected to leave early access by Q1 2022.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will most prominent feature multiplayer (possibly large dedicated servers) as well as a much larger number of "stock" interactive objects. We are also exploring adding an in-game modeling and behavior API system.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently KowloonVR functions as a cooperative, single-player world builder, in which all users work together to build a contiguous world but cannot directly interact with each other.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Probably not. Proceeds from the game are used to pay server costs, so price changes are dependent on the pricing structure of the server host, not on client features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“There are a number of places in which users can report issues, suggest features, and even contribute to development. These include a subreddit (r/KowloonVR), a dedicated Discord server, and the GitHub site hosting the client code.”
