Micro Annihilation is a real-time strategy where your battlefields are inside homes, offices, and everything in between. Airlift troops onto the dining room table, launch artillery across the bedroom, and bring down the house while waging war upon a new mysterious foe.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We strongly believe in close communication between developers and players.

We wish to continue to add more rogue-lite elements to Micro Annihilation, by adding more options and unexpected events. We see this as an iterative process, and it would be best to have player feedback as we implement those exciting new features.

Early Access is well suited to meld Micro Annihilation's future between our own desires and our players' desires.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Given our current desired features, our current schedule dictates the release would be July 2021.

We acknowledge there is plenty of potential depth to add, given the rogue-lite direction we wish to go. It is expected that we will be adding a variety of features, large and small, during early access based on community feedback. Due to this, we cannot guarantee the July 2021 date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Here is a tentative list of features we have slated, which would be produced during early access:

  • Hand-crafted missions, to act as an introduction, finale, and various special events.
  • AI generals for both player and enemy factions. Each general will have their own personalities and strategies, adding variety to the missions, similar to RTS multiplayer matches.
  • New mission types, again, adding variety and opportunities for players to exploit.
  • New enemy factions. The main antagonist is composed of several subfactions, each with their own units with their own strengths and weaknesses. Upon early access launch, we will only have two, of the at five planned. We also have whole new factions that are scheduled to be added.
  • New player units and technologies. Inevitably, you will need more powerful equipment to keep up with the new enemies!
  • New random events that can occur during a mission or during the world map.
  • More randomly generated map types, particularly indoor maps.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

  • Expansive unit repertoire for both player and enemy factions.
  • Six procedurally generated map types.
  • A few mission archetypes.
  • Basic world map implementation, allowing players and enemies to attack and defend.
  • One enemy faction, with two subfactions.
  • Research tree that unlocks units, fueled by resources you gather on the battlefield.
  • Elementary lore via research topics.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We will likely increase the price of the game as major features are added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We firmly believe that for Micro Annihilation to grow, community involvement is mandatory.

The best way to get involved is to join us on our Discord: https://discord.gg/AMTKx9R

We regularly post updates on what we're working on, and release new content. We encourage players to discuss how they play, and what they would like to see next in our Discord.

We take all feedback seriously, and blend it with our own vision and capabilities, resulting in what is available today.”

About This Game

Much to our dismay, development has been temporarily paused. :-( Click to learn why.

Micro Annihilation will place you in control of a secret paramilitary organization called the United Armies. But, their greatest secret is not that they have military forces hidden around the globe... it's that they are miniscule!

As supreme commander, you must defend against a new, mysterious, global... insect invasion!? It is up to you to investigate the strange new threat, manage resources, research advanced technologies, and deploy your troops around the world.

Micro Annihilation draws homage from beloved strategy titles, such as Dune, Command & Conquer, Supreme Commander, X-COM, and Total War, throwing in the twist, "What if you were only an inch tall?"

Key Features

  • COMMAND YOUR MINIATURE ARMY across recognizable environments. (Not unlike many of us did as kids with our toys, but this time, with many more explosions!)
  • TAKE COMMAND FROM A FIRST-PERSON PERSPECTIVE in your unique hovering command unit. Tiny tanks cannot open doors, but maybe your command craft can break them down with a good push...
  • CONSTRUCT BASES by literally air-dropping your structures into the battlefield!
  • USE AUTOMATED TRANSPORTS to tactically deploy your troops onto inaccessible surfaces!
  • RESEARCH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES to unleash an array of units, from sturdy tanks to nimble, jet-powered, laser-wielding gunships!
  • SQUISH AND EXPLODE an impressive spectrum of [REDACTED].
  • UNEARTH THE LORE of the mysterious foe, and your own miniscule civilization.
