Why Early Access?

“As of 9/7/2021 our aim is to improve the quality of the game with the assistance of our community and to gather feedback and testing data as we work.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“2 years maximum.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We want to solidify the core mechanics and content production toolset in Early Access. At this stage the game will include a limited selection of ships, weapons, and levels to play on. This selection of content will be expanded on an "as needed" basis meaning only content with new features or mechanics will be released for testing.


From launch onwards, content will consist of episodic mission based levels that we will create using a toolset that combines automated art and production tools to deliver content on a weekly basis similar to how TV shows air a new episode every week to two weeks. This post launch content may or may not include new ships, weapons, planetary locations, side story replay-able levels, but will always include new story based content. This content will be delivered mostly in written form but will include some voice narrative to be delivered by a rather convincing synthetic computer generated voice powered by AI. This will be the same voice used in the base game as the mission narrator.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now we have a settings menu, main menu, the ability to create and select from different player profiles, player save and load data, 5 main story missions, 3 side story replayable missions, 2 starships and 5 different weapons to choose from and a data load and save architecture for lore, story, and equipment statistics that serializes all data via JSON.

The entirety of the game currently uses a common architecture that manages player data, missions access, equipment access, and tracks the scoring of player activities in mission which are then scored and calculated for currency the player can expend in various ways.

Missions that can be played are fail-able and winnable and the campaign is playable up to a certain mission depending on what's being developed. These vary in a number of ways and show the kind of gameplay we are striving for.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will not change throughout the course of the games lifespan in Early Access. Once released the price will increase by a factor of 2 and new content will be released on a seasonal basis.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“To gather as much player feedback as possible so engagement on the Steam discussion boards will be key. However, we also plan to do weekly YouTube streams where we update everyone on the weeks progress and future goals. We also want to hold weekly polls through SurveyMonkey or a similar service.

Additionally we want to build a roadmap in cooperation with the community that lays out the most ideal features based upon both my wants and the communities wants and to maintain that as the standard for the game moving forward. We've laid the foundation but the community will help to see the game to it's final shape.”

About This Game

Frontiers Reach is an arcade flight combat game set in the Frontier's Reach Universe. A universe where humanity has taken its first steps into the stars and begun to establish colonies across hundreds of worlds from the most habitable to the most hostile. Players will assume the role of a fighter pilot serving in the privateer fleet of the Republic of Frontier Worlds where human's from every culture and tongue have come to seek opportunity and an escape from the corrupt Sol Confederacy of Planets.



The Gameplay of Frontiers Reach will see the player skip the long trips between locations and drop right into the action. Taking on Sorties players will be tasked with completing singular goals that have a high degree of difficulty. While on Patrols players can pilot their starfighter around areas filled with obstacles and secrets where barnstorming will be the only way to get the prize. And Campaign missions will keep the story moving forward and unlock new and interesting starfighters and weapons for the player to use.



Create your character with the recently added character creator. Your image and callsign of choice will show up in conversations.



The Starfighters of Frontiers Reach are old and rugged but more than a fit for the jobs they fill out in the frontier worlds. Players can currently select between 4 of them and will have the ability to fit different weapon systems to their starfighters to meet the needs of each mission they take on. (Weapons selection is currently undergoing major overhaul and has been disabled until further notice)



Outfit Your Starfighter and tweak performance parameters within various ranges to achieve the desired performance you want out of a starfighter.



Talk to characters between missions on the new observation deck lounge area to get access to missions that can only be obtained through conversations with NPC's.



Fly From the Cockpit or Third Person Perspective and experience a difference in both the game difficulty and immersive value. The choice is yours!



Customize the Color of your starfighter of choice as well as pattern and choose a squadron emblem to make your starfighter truly yours.

The Future of Frontiers Reach is one in which the team will use the automation tools we've purchased and crafted to deliver weekly story driven content for the community to engage with. We also hope to provide some of these tools to our community so that they can create their own content within the games universe.

The Multiplayer of Frontiers Reach is currently not being planned at all but the future is a crazy place so things may change.
