Varför Early Access?

“To give players an idea of our game's design and allow players to give us feedback early in development.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“As long as we need, we aren't going to release a half made game. We do hope to have a polished feature-complete game by July 2023 which would include all combat mechanics, an in-depth magic system, interesting quests, and some captivating locations. From there, we will continue to build out the world's scale, lore, and content.”

Hur är det tänkt att den fullständiga versionen ska skilja sig från versionen i Early Access?

“Early Access will give an overall demonstration of Shaype's gameplay. Combat, questing, dialogue, and character progression will all make their way into Early Access, demonstrating Shaype's foundation as a game.

Full release will expand upon and polish the features demonstrated in Early Access.”

“In its current state, we have a small arena where players can try out gear and weapons facing off against our AI helping us to balance our combat system.”

“The community will be able to engage in the development process through our demos/builds released on Steam.

Updates to Shaype will allow players to test various aspects of gameplay, such as melee combat, magic, skills/character development, quest design, and world-building.

Players can share their feedback and help guide the development of Shaype primarily through our Sinking Ship Studios Discord or through our other various social media platforms that can all be found on our website.”

Shaype is a fantasy role-playing game with an emphasis on player dictated character creation, combat playstyles, dialogue, and story outcomes. The ability for the player to create and develop their own character and world is at the heart of Shaype’s design, presenting diverse role-playing and alignment options.

​With Shaype, we wish to create a true role-playing game. Our focus in development is for the player to feel as though they exist in an engaging world where their decisions matter.


World

  • A major goal for Shaype is to provide an engaging setting and atmosphere. Despite the friendly artstyle, Shaype will explore dark/adult themes, allow for diverse character alignment options and pose morally grey situations in a violent land.

Player Choice

  • Gameplay will be multifaceted and reflective of the player, with significant world-changing options in dialogue, playstyle, and quests that are driven by the skillset and choices of your character.

Combat System

  • For combat, we are developing varied weapons and divisions of Magic which will each possess their own skill trees and abilities.
  • We want to provide a challenging experience that rewards the skill level of the player. Combat mechanics are designed to be easy to learn but hard to master, testing the ability of the player to find openings to strike.

The game includes frequent occurrences of cartoon blood, gore, and violence. Due to the game being heavily designed around player choice the player will always have the option to solve situations with violence. Our world is designed to look bright and happy but is filled with dark themes that include the use/discussion of drugs and alcohol. At times the game may allow the users to coerce or even force other characters to inflict harm upon themself leaving them wounded or even dead.
