Why Early Access?

“Cyberforge takes some known gaming paradigms and is attempting to update and merge them to take advantage of contemporary platforms. There are many things that need a larger number of players willing to try and share their experiences with us, both good and bad, so we can make informed choices based upon what our players want most.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We will be updating this as we improve. The First Light version will always be free but the features will remain limited. Expect updates to this Developers Build for throughout 2021.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Full version of Cyberforge: First Light will offer a more complete endless mode with leader boards for competitive motivation and benchmarking plus several additional mechanics, like rogue-lite boosters/modifiers to provide variety and replay-ability. Levels, enemies and character options will be thoroughly balanced and expanded. We also plan to make the co-op playable online through Steam Remote Play.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

• Full Controller support
  
• Up to 3 players in local coop
  
• Rudimentary AI for CPU controlled hero units (expect new verisons often)
  
• Levels are functional and connected and enemies vary in number and type each time a room is entered.
  
• Enemies become progressively stronger with each room you explore.
  
• Game balance also very rough at the moment (also frequently updated)
  
• Each hero has a full set of equipment but alternate options for weapons and armor will be expanded over the course of EA

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Cyberforge: First Light will remain free indefinitely as its purpose is to be an early access developer build. Once the mechanics and gameplay are finalized it will remain as a free demo of the Full Version - planned to release in early 2022. The Full Verison will be a premium (paid) game. That future game will have an immersive "Story Mode", with more environments, enemies, equipment and player options and choices that will influence the story as it progresses.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are hoping that by releasing the Developers Build, that we will gain valuable insights into what our players truly want from Cyberforge.

We will be reading reviews and will consider all feedback, suggestions, complaints and celebrations here on Steam and on our reddit page, before we decide where to focus our efforts. It is our firm belief that truly great games can only be made when the real players of those games are heard by the developers. We pledge to be open, candid and responsive in our journey together.”
