The player can discover hidden sections of the abbey with platforming and defend himself from the darkness with holy water. Edmund Rosental, a private detective has fallen to dark times after the passing of his wife and he is offered a case to investigate a long abandoned abbey that has been rumoured to be haunted. Edmund accepts the job inorder to escape his dark and lonely existence. In Keep the Lights on, Edmund has to uncover the dark past of the abbey and face his own darkness.
