“As a Solo DEV I need player feedback to improve these areas before widespread release, which is expected to be in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Early Access has launched as of 07/23/23 with the first 4 campaign missions. Eventually all 14 missions (including multiple boss fights) will be available in Early Access and at full release.

Each of the 3 playable classes (MAGE, CYBORG, EXPLORER) has unique abilities and perks, which will be buffed by mission completion and in-mission choices. This combination allows for many build possibilities, including unlockable subclasses like Technomage, which feature additional perks.

Your feedback on these early missions will shape the direction of the gameplay and campaign structure.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“3-6 months.

All missions are written and playable, although most will be locked initially in Early Access while player feedback is processed. Expect regular, often weekly updates to the game, and fast responses to any questions that I'm able to answer.”

“Boss fights, UI, and player abilities will be changed based on Early Access feedback. I also hope to add unique new game+ features and Steam Achievements.

Scope will not be significantly changed so as not to jeopardize the release date.”

“The Early Access version of the game currently features 4 playable missions (2 to the past, 2 to the future). The remaining 10 missions including the final Boss battle with THE BEAST will be released throughout Early Access based on feedback from players. This area will be updated consistently as content is added, and footage/screenshots will be regularly updated to the latest build of the game.”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“The plan is to have a special low price during Early Access, then raise to a full release price. If the game is expanded in the future the price would likely increase again, but anyone purchasing the game in Early Access should not expect additional costs.”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“I intend to gather the community's feedback through feedback forms which will be collated into data. This will be combined with heat map data to identify areas for improvement. The intent is for Escape Condition to grow into a full universe where multiple characters can be used to play the campaign from different perspectives.

I also have created a living user manual for Escape Condition on YouTube. Common questions from the community will be used to update and improve the manual in each category over the life of the game. Expect regular updates and responses to player questions.”
