Leopard A1A1 L/44

豹 A1A1 L/44 原型机是在 80 年代中期开发的，基于豹 A1A1 型。它保留了原始版本的高机动性，并有升级的主武器：Rheinmetall L/44 120 毫米口径炮，后来使用在豹 2 上。坦克的副武器没有变化：同轴 7.62 毫米机枪，还有一部位于车顶上用于防空。车体装甲保持不变，因此这种坦克不适合正面交战，但它完美地适用于侵袭性的侧翼攻击和伏击。
