What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Destructive Contraptions has been in development since 2019. From the very start we deliberately made the choice of an open development. We took it as far as we could using our own resources and released a demo internally and got positive feedback so far. So based on the feedback we wish to open the game to a wider market and continue expanding with our own ideas and also the ideas received from the community as we go forward to create a polished, balanced game on release”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Initially we have plans to get out of early access by Q2/2024 - Q3/2024, but it also depends on how the community reacts to the features we implement.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The future updates will offer new environments, more objects to simulate with and much more. A campaign mode will also be added on full release and various other features which will be revealed as we go forward. Also most importantly the new features we add and the already existing features should be far more polished and fleshed out and potentially bug free.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Since the game is a type of sandbox game, the features such as placement, adjustment, save/load system and simulation based on physics are completely implemented and playable.
Also workshop support has been implemented in a earlier update.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features. The price of the full released game will be more than the current Early Access price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have learned that nothing beats user feedback when it comes to improving a game and testing new game mechanics. We will be using Steam discussions and Discord specifically for bug reporting, suggestions and improvements needed to make this game a engaging and unique experience.”
