What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Games of this type benefit greatly from community input during the earlier stages of development, and as a solo developer it's important to balance how time is spent. Input from the community will highlight the areas in which development time is best used to create a great gameplay experience. It is important to understand that the game is still quite early in development and that, while many of the core features of the game are in place, not all of them are as fleshed out as they ultimately will be. The advantage of Early Access is that feedback from the community can help guide the order in which these things get done, and the level of success the game receives in Early Access will determine what the game ultimately becomes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It's currently unclear how long Early Access will last, though it is somewhat dependant on the community - the more features are requested, the more time it will take to implement them. My current estimate is 12-18 months, but that could very easily change as time goes on.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The biggest changes between Early Access and the full version will primarily be more content. More dialogue, more crops, more adventure areas, more machines, more character customisation. Development of the simulation aspects of the game is something that's ongoing too; the goal is to create a world in which your actions have tangible impacts on the world around you.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Most of the core gameplay systems are in place, and content exists for the first full in-game season (though you can continue playing beyond this freely). You can plant and breed a wide variety of crops, interact with over two-dozen NPCs, construct buildings and raise animals and build some basic automated machinery.

Exploration zones are implemented but are currently limited in the amount of content they provide.

All of the core features mentioned in the "About This Game" section exist within the game currently, though almost all of those areas of the game will receive significant content updates during the course of development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There are currently no plans to change the price after Early Access ends.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be vital in determining which features are prioritised during development and which parts of the game need tweaking. Community participation is also a great source of inspiration for future ideas that might not have been considered before.

The current plan is to release an update every 6-8 weeks, along with a post on our website detailing the current state of the game and the general plans for the following update. The community can help shape these updates by posting on the Steam Community forum, or by contacting us directly on social media.”

About This Game

Save the town of Riverside from starvation by building and maintaining a farm. Work the barren soil, breed new types of crops, and build automated systems to help manage the land. The world has become a harsh and unforgiving place, the land plagued by blightstorms that devastate plant-life with a variety of diseases. A brutal attack on the town of Riverside leaves their farm in ruins, and with no one left who can work the barren soil, they desperately need your help. Strike a balance between feeding the town and funding your own growth. Create better varieties of crop and even entirely new species through selective breeding. Make decisions to help shape the future of the town and the surrounding region as part of the town council. Form relationships with the people of the town. Can you save Riverside from disaster?

  • Build your own farm in a harsh and unforgiving world. Cultivate the land and bring life to the area through the use of science, technology, and good old fashioned hard work.
  • Customise your crops, creating new varieties and even entirely new species. Improve the yield, growth time, and resistance to blightstorms through careful selective breeding, or just throw everything together and see what shakes out.
  • Explore the ruins of fallen cities and reclaim lost technologies to use on your farm. Create vast automated systems, improve the efficiency of your farm, process your crops into more valuable resources, and employ advanced genetic manipulation techniques to supercharge your crops.
  • Get to know the residents of Riverside, form relationships, and help shape the future of the town through your position on the town council. Will you encourage growth and cooperation with the surrounding region, or will you strive for self-reliance and ensuring the town's needs come first?
