What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Why Early Access? Simple. We want you to taste the goods before the full buffet is ready. Plus, we figure, why wait to get some feedback when you can start yelling at us early, right?”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We’re kicking things off with Episode 0.5, giving you about an hour of gameplay in the first half of Work Release. The second half of the episode will drop soon after, loaded with absurd choices, ridiculous action, and all the mayhem you can handle. After that, brace yourself for a marathon of mayhem: three to four more episodes over six months, released periodically. It’s going to be awesome!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will come with the complete episode set—because why settle for half the mayhem when you can have it all? This is Deathpuddle at full power, no holding back.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Episode 0.5, the first half of Work Release, is ready to rock with an hour of content. Why only half an episode? Because Deathpuddle believes in 'half-measures'—at least until he doesn’t. Seriously though, we’re not just aiming for a good game; we’re making something legendary. And, well, legends take time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yeah, no duh—the price is going up after the first release. What’s next, you gonna ask if fire’s hot? If you wanna save a few bucks, get in early. We expect to raise the price to at least $30 after full launch, but hey, nothing’s set in stone…”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Here’s the plan: we’re rolling out episodes on a tight schedule, and you’re gonna keep us on our toes. You like somethin’? We’ll give you more of it. We’re listening. Together, we’ll make sure Deathpuddle’s journey is a legendary mess—a beautiful disaster of epic proportions.”

About This Game

Welcome to Deathpuddle: Choose Violence?, a thrilling and darkly comedic graphic cinematic narrative choice-driven adventure novel that puts you in control of Deathpuddle, a tall, lean ex-convict currently incarcerated. Falsely accused of impersonating a prisoner on prison property and breaking into people’s hearts, Deathpuddle's life is a whirlwind of humor, action, and bizarre situations. Clad in his blue hero costume, Deathpuddle is an anti-hero with not-so-superhero-like powers and tendencies.

In this episodic journey, each episode brings unique challenges and colorful characters. Episode 0.5 has Deathpuddle on a mission just to get to his first job; Episode 1 escalates as he wreaks havoc in a fast-food restaurant. Episode 2, Prickster Rescue Protocol, kicks the stakes up further, sending Deathpuddle to save the kidnapped Governor Prickster, navigating kidnappings, ambushes, and wildly unpredictable showdowns. Subsequent episodes will have Deathpuddle facing off against all manner of formidable foes, each story more epic and absurd than the last.

Meet a cast of unforgettable characters, including the gruff halfway house manager Marcus 'Ciggy' Jones, the quirky bunkmates Stinky Steve and Beans, the stern but severe Warden, the Judge, Correctional Officer Ceyo, the hot detective Veronica Chase, and frequent guest appearances of the local SWAT team. Engage in darkly humorous dialogues, make pivotal choices, and experience multiple outcomes based on your decisions. The game features video segments with impressive graphics and animations, enhancing the storytelling experience. Players can choose to enjoy the story through audio, text, or both, similar to an audiobook or visual novel.

Will you help him find redemption, or is his journey destined to loop back to his prison cell? Your choices shape the path—but be warned: every decision brings unexpected (and hilarious) consequences.

Disclaimer:

Deathpuddle is a “budget-value” blue anti-super-hero, and, obviously, a blue hero could never infringe on the rights of a certain red one. Seriously, don’t try this at home (or in prison). Enjoy the game. Like Jesus said, love God with all your heart, and love others as yourself. Now, buckle up—Deathpuddle’s problems are about to become everyone’s problem real quick in Deathpuddle: Choose Violence?
