Why Early Access?

“Boom Stick has been since the beginning a Solo Project, I am the only one working on this. As of now, most of the basic features have been implemented. Right now it is a fully working game, and a rather fun one. But I believe there is much more potential in this game, and many more ideas to be explored. Having the game on Early Access opens it up to community feedback, which will help it to be something even better.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 3-4 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“On final release, the plan is to have 40 - 50 levels in the Game with the following :-

*More Enemies and Bosses, all of them distinct, and some special weapons.

*Secrets, Collectables and Hidden levels, and a Hardcore Mode

*Steam Achievements and Leader boards

*Translations in Different languages (there isn't much to translate anyway)

*Ports for Linux and Mac (No Promises)

*Changes to Menu/UI

If all of these are completed within the time frame, I may work on adding a Multiplayer Mode (No Promises). If not, then multiplayer may be added as an update after the Final release”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“There are currently 16 levels in the game with 3 Boss fights. Most of the levels are final and will not change. The rest may go through some minor changes. All primary weapons are implemented, Jet-Pack has been implemented. All Major features have been implemented.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price may increase upon leaving Early Access”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“All suggestions from the community are will be taken into consideration, the community may even contribute some levels or assets, and in such a case, the contributor will be credited (don't think I'll be relying on that though).”

About This Game

A note from the developer

If you ever liked the fast pace and difficulty of old school shooters from the 90s, you should give Boom Stick a try.

Boom Stick takes the Classic Gameplay and boils it down to its key elements, with a few changes that you will like. Most Importantly the shooting is locked to the Y-axis, opening up all sorts of possibilities.

Projectiles only, so Run-n-Gun to your heart's content. Fly around in a Jet-pack, dodging enemy fire and shooting back with classic weapons like Shotguns, Machine Guns, Grenade and Rocket Launchers. Take on Bosses with massive health bars. Do it all as fast as you can, there is a timer on top. Speed-Run maybe.

Since the beginning, this has been a one man project, and although it may not be up to AAA standards, a lot of effort is put into it to make the Gameplay worth the price.

I would appreciate any feedback, and will take it into account to deliver a better experience.
