Varför Early Access?

“Era of Survival was launched in Early Access to ensure community input guides the game's development. Updates are ongoing, currently on hold, with the most recent stable version available as of November 2022. Since the initial launch in February 2020, 26 updates have been implemented, reflecting our ongoing commitment to our community. We invite you to experience Era for yourself, or to consider adding it to your wishlist. If you're a Youtube Reviewer and would like a free key, please contact me via email.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“I currently estimate the game to be in Early Access for at least another 2 years. There is still an economical/tribal component to add to the game, once all basic survival mechanics are added and running perfectly.”

“To not promise too much, we preferred to keep the lists short..

The scope to develop a survival game is enormous. I plan Era's development in several smaller jobs (bite sized chunks) and work them off according to priority, in phases. Sometimes I even add ideas that players requested. This is why the community is so important to Era's development.

In the short term, we aim to make the following changes:

Assign, complete and polish all character animations
Bring the game to a stage where bug reports have dried up
Bring in new animals like snakes, rabbits, ducks that bring new craft ingredients with them and unlock more craft items, like clothes
Stone blast oven
More elaborate farming that opens up more options to the player

In the medium term, we aim to make the following changes:

Setting buildings on fire
Dark caves where better metals can be found
Variety of clothing options
More weapons including explosive and flammable throwable items and arrows
Fuels for cooking and combustion
Let other players join your colony and work together under one flag
Safe sharing and trade of resources between players
Natural disasters
Create mechanical machinery including working with gears

In the long term?

Add the economical/tribal/colony component to the game

We prefer to have a level of animosity as to the final future of Era of Survival. In short, it is a surprise :)

“In it's current state, players can play in Single Player mode, over LAN or on the Official online server. Theres already 40+ craftable items, including tools, weapons, medicine, clothes construction parts and more. You can explore a 2 square kilometer map with forests and ponds, dangerous wolves and bears, chickens, medicinal mushrooms, trees abundant, stone abundant and it even rains. You can construct your home any way you like, stock up on loot and fight off other players, and hunt and fish too.”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“Yes it will. I understand that the game isn't finished and therefore we would ask a lower price during Early Access.”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“I stay in contact with the community through social media and our blog to best understand what our community wants most. In-Game bug reporting is also available to acts as a direct line with the developer. This feedback is used to add bugfixes or new features in future builds. I read everything 😊”

A new era commences. The Age of Technology has ended, allowing nature to reestablish balance and order. This emerging world, abundant in diverse animal and plant life, presents renewed challenges rooted in fundamental survival: agriculture, hunting, defense, and the construction of adequate shelter.

Success now depends on the ability to adapt, establish a foundation, and seek progress within this revitalized environment. Will you persevere to live with the land? Or will you strip the world bare, kill anything in sight, and rule with an iron fist?

The objective is for Jack to survive within the natural ecosystem, using available strategies or resources. Help Jack secure food, water, clothing, and shelter—whether a modest home or a tall building. Assist him in developing expansive farms, staying warm and dry, and crafting stronger tools to overcome bigger challenges. Protect him against hostile animals and elements, using brain or brawn.

🗺️ A BALANCED WORLD 🗺️

Jack can explore a world with changing weather, temperature, and day-night cycles. He'll find various pickups, forests and ponds to utilize in his quest.

🏹 GO HUNTING 🏹

Make Jack a bow and send him out; he'll mostly be hunting wolves and bears, which are both dangerous predators. Equipped with a bow, strong armor and a good sense of aim, Jack will be eating his first cooked bear meat soon!

🧺 SUBSISTENCE FARMING 🧺

Cultivate a variety of vegetables, ensuring their proper irrigation and care until that sweet harvest.

🏗️ CONSTRUCTION 🏗️

Jack needs a dry, warm place to sleep and relax. Build him any type of home using at least 15 construction parts, in any design or size.

📦 RESOURCE MANAGEMENT 📦

Jack should manage his available resources efficiently. If he continues to remove all the trees near his home, he will eventually need to travel increasingly greater distances to obtain additional wood. He should also utilize his storage capacity judiciously by prioritizing essential items and avoiding unnecessary accumulation.

🎣 FISHING 🎣

Jack has several long-term survival strategies. Residing near a wolf den can help maintain a steady food source, as can living close to a dam and fishing for meals.
