A distant planet inhabited by life forms alien to humankind. Once, it served as a proving ground for advanced military technology. The war that deployed these machines ended long ago. Years later, the AI became self-aware. Breaking free from its original constraints, it created new sentient systems - the Mechanoids - left them the testing grounds… and disappeared.

The Mechanoids split into factions and began to clash. Eventually, the proving grounds were devastated. Meanwhile, a group of humans - descendants of those who once waged war here - returned to the planet.
