Why Early Access?

“This is my first game, and I am using this as an opportunity to gain experience as a developer from game concept to title launch. I also want this little micro-puzzle arcade to grow.

If I first launched Iconic outside of Early Access people would expect it to be 100% complete, and awesome, and immediately worth every cent. I just know even with all the caution and love I am putting into this game that bugs or problems will be found that need to be fixed.

I want to devote time to creating a very fun and well-made experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to keep this in Early Access for approximately 2 years as I continue to develop and polish this game. ETA for full launch is Feb 20th, 2023.

Content Updates are planned to occur approximately every 3-4 months, as this is a project I work on in my spare time.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The intent is to add significantly more content, mechanics, and levels. Early access provides an opportunity to squash bugs, gain feedback, and improve the quality of the game before the full release.”

“Early Access (Alpha): Right now roughly 19+ levels are completed, with polished core mechanics, movement, some puzzles, navigation obstacles, all completed as a very polished and well functioning early-stage alpha.”

“The Standard Price is $2.99, with occasional opportunities for purchase at a large discount early during development. As development continues the amount of the discounts will decrease during sales to represent the continued addition of content to the game and hours dedicated to supporting development & fixes over the next few years.”

About This Game

In this obstacle & puzzle-based arcade, you are an arrow icon, navigating a 2D environment of visual communication without words. How fast can you clear all the levels? Or can you clear them all with just a handful of lives?

Created by A Single Developer:

All core gameplay, Art, Animation, and Programming are by a single developer.

Early Access - Version 0.30.0 (ALPHA):

ICONIC will continue to build out towards 2-3 hours of content as the game moves closer to Full Release, current number of levels: 19+

CURRENT Features:

  • Adventure & Random Mode.
  • A calming minimalistic art style free of noise and distraction.
  • 15-second to 1-minute micro-levels for quick gameplay.
  • Level completion & time tracking for each playthrough.
  • A variety of traps, tricks, obstacles & puzzles.

Almost no sound effects have been implemented into the game yet!

A World of Visual Communication:

Iconic features gameplay without text-based language, the experience is communicated directly through forms of visual display to help the player progress. Colors are used sparingly to indicate importance or to catch the eye and offer hints where the focus should be directed.

The simplicity and minimalism are intentional and based on the concept of "Lagom" which roughly translates to "Not too little, not too much" in Swedish.

Helping 30 Million By 2030:

I am using my time as the developer of ICONIC to improve my programming skills so I can build games that will help those that experience depression, anxiety, and social isolation. Games that aim to help players learn tools in problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution.
