What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As a two-man team, we feel that the game would benefit greatly if we were to continue expanding the game with community feedback and other resources that become available during early access. It is in our experience that getting player feedback is crucial to bringing the game to our expectations.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“While we do not have a set date for a full release at this moment in time, we expect that the game will be in early access for around 6 months. Our focus is to ensure that the game is fun and enjoyable rather than sticking to a deadline that might have a adverse impact on the final product.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access version of the game contains an abundance of content that will keep players engaged for many hours. While the early access version is reliable and entirely playable, players may to run into some minor bugs that will be patched before the full release.

Throughout the course of the early access period we intend to introduce many new features such as complex siege maps, new units types, more general cosmetics, game modes, and unique play styles, all while expanding and improving many of the existing features available in the early access version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In terms of content, the early access version of the game contains all of the standard elements of of grand strategy along with the additional features of a real-time strategy game. The early access version also includes fully supported real-time co-op multiplayer game modes for players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not anticipate a change in price after early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We intend to use many different methods to explore player feedback and engage with our community. Our Steam forum page will host frequent updates and questionnaires that players can use to voice their own opinions. We will also be checking out
player feedback that are posted on other social media platforms as well.”

About This Game

Warsworn: Dragon of japan is a real-time grand strategy game set during the Sengoku period in Japan. Players can draft their own clans, compete in high spirit battles, and come up with epic strategies during their campaign to unify Japan.

  • Risky spy actions when used strategically can turn the tide of war. Spy actions that are discovered by the enemy will have a negative impact on your reputation and honor.

  • Maintaining high honor and reputation is important for the success rate of diplomacy actions. Lower reputation and honor clan are more likely to be targeted by coalitions. Treacherous wills will have the most impact on your reputation and honor stats.

  • There are no turn times in Dragon of Japan. You can strategize and perform sneaky maneuvers in real time. As a result of battles commencing in real-time, players should be wary of outside forces such as AI joining the battle in real-time.

  • Whether it is to combat nearby forces that might interfere, or overpower the opposition with numbers, both AI and player controlled generals can bolster their military strength, by commanding a joint campaign of two generals.

  • Players can upgrade their cites, regulate faction expenses, research, recruit and disband units, utilize learned character abilities, choose focuses, make use of spy and diplomacy actions, and devise custom war tactics.

  • Initiating a Joint campaign with one of your generals is a good way to increase your fighting force.

  • Yari Asigaru and Nagitgita Samurai are stronger against cavalry units and weaker against other sword units.

  • Risky spy actions when used strategically can turn the tide of war. Spy actions that are discovered by the enemy will have a negative impact on your reputation and honor.

  • Maintaining high honor and reputation is important for the success rate of diplomacy actions.

  • Improving relations with nearby clans will help you avoid getting into a conflict with them.

  • Generals in the recruitment pool with the treacherous attribute have a higher chance of betrayal.

  • Berserker Mode drastically improves the health and attack strength of a unit. Shrines are the most efficient way to increase its activation rate.
