What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“MetrixVR is in early access so you can test and talk about the current features of the game, report the bugs, and start making the game as you want it to become.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in Early Access for something like one year, depending on how the community grow and how fast the game is made”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final version of the game will have a very complete scripting support, some well-designed Development tools, will be heavily configurable and moddable, and will be optimised for cross-platform support.
It will also support most devices which may be used for Virtual Reallity (Gamepads, VR Controllers, Vive Knuckles/Skelletal Input, Leap Motion, VR Trackers (with Fullbody Tracking support), Tesla Suit / Other FullbodyVR Suits, and I hope many incoming hardware)
There will also be some dedicated servers (hosted by users) and singleplayer support (currently there is only the Hub server, which host multiple Hub instances)”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version is currently cross-platform compatible (Windows, OSX, Linux, Android, iOS), playable in Desktop and VR mode (Vive/Oculus/WRM/DayDream/Google Cardboard), with a working multiplayer (the dedicated servers aren't available currently).
You can speak with other users, create and upload custom content (models / maps), and create custom hub instances (you can choose the map, the player limit and the password of the instance).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be free during the early access (alpha / beta), and we want it to stay free after the release. We might add some paid features, like dedicated servers in the future.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The game is based on what the community make. Most of the content will be made by them, and the team will be really carefull about what the community say and want for the game.
We actually handle most of the community feedback on discord, and want them to have a game where they can create whatever they want.”

About This Game

MetrixVR is a multiplayer online game, where you can build things, talk with people, and much more.
The game have many gamemodes, from "sandbox" to some gamemodes with survival or exploration goals.

How to Play Gamemodes ?

There is two ways to play: Using the main server (Hub), or on some self-hosted servers (MVRDS / MetrixVR Dedicated Server).
The hub allow you to play with a limited sandbox game. It also make you able to meet other community members, or just to wait for a private server to be online.
The self-hosted servers allow you to play any gamemode, as long as you respect the rules created by the server master.
Theses self-hosted servers are hosted by community members or some third-party organisation, and allow the host to configure his server as he or his community wants.

How to create custom game content ? (Objets, Models, UIs, Gamemodes, ...)

To create some content, you have to use the game developpement kit, called "UVRSDK", and Unity 2018.3.0f2.
If you already used to create some avatars or worlds using VRChat, this should be really easy for you to use it.
