Miksi Early Access?

eXpanSIM is dynamically evolving. We would like to verify our ideas and take into account feedback from the community before the official release. Early Access gives us a chance to reach true enthusiasts of the genre.

We are planning to stay in Early Access for one year. The speed of project development depends largely on the engagement of the community and sponsors.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

Before leaving Early Access, we will add more vehicles with visual customisation and new real locations. Maybe we will be able to add multiplayer and career mode.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The current version of the simulator offers realistic vehicle physics and driving in the VR mode. Vehicles and locations listed in the game description below are available. The graphic content is still being enhanced, and the vehicle parameters are constantly tuned. Racing and driving school modes are under construction.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

During Early Access and after leaving it, the game will be available as Free to Play. The simulator has a built-in store and subscription plans giving access to selected features of the product. The subscription plans and their prices may change.

Miten yhteisö otetaan mukaan kehitysprosessiin?

We encourage anyone who has the technical knowledge or practical experience to share your thoughts about the simulator. We would like to collect useful information about technical aspects of various types of vehicles on the Steam forums. As game developers, we often do not have access to the data that is available to companies from the automotive industry. We hope that with the active support of the community, we can gather all the technical knowledge that is necessary to model a big collection of vehicles in our simulator accurately.

The simulator is now in a closed beta phase. You can download the current version and take part in the development by sharing your feedback. Follow the steps below:

  1. Apply for a free Steam key in this thread. The game will appear in your Steam library after the key is activated.
  2. Ask questions and discuss relevant topics on the official forum.
  3. Join to stay in touch with the developers.

eXpanSIM is a universal vehicle simulator that supports VR and lets you:

  • train the technique of driving cars and trucks,
  • test your strength in competitive driving,
  • validate new solutions and conduct experimental research.

eXpanSIM aims to capture the realism of driving cars and trucks of different types (petrol, diesel, and electric). The game offers a range of different locations including urban environments, race tracks, and off-road routes. Driving in VR mode is optional.

The project is powered by an original vehicle physics engine designed for professional applications. It was developed by Raving Bots, a Polish indie studio.

Driving school


Improve your driving skills. Learn the principles of eco-driving and hone your driving technique. A range of specially designed training scenarios will lead you to perfection.

Racing


Prepare yourself for a high realism and an extreme level of difficulty. There will be no driving assistance systems (unless they exist in real vehicles). You've been warned.

Research testbed


Communicate with the simulation using a convenient API. Conduct a series of experiments and collect results easily. eXpanSIM is a modern tool for engineers, designers, Artificial Intelligence researchers working on autonomous vehicles and more.

  • lorry (with a semitrailer or a tanker),

  • armoured personnel carrier (APC),
  • mobile gun system (MGS),
  • manoeuvre combat vehicle (MCV),
  • main battle tank (MBT).

Vehicle models have right-hand and left-hand traffic variants as well. We are constantly expanding the collection of available vehicles. In the near future, the drones will be added.

Equipment


To fully experience the potential of the simulator, it is recommended to use a steering wheel with pedals. The game supports popular VR equipment such as HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Valve Index.
