What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“My goal is to develop a fully immersive and interactive WW2 tank VR experience for the player. As a solo developer, this is an ambitious undertaking and there are still many features to be implemented before this game is completed. With early access, this is the most effective way to accomplish this goal via utilization of player feedback early in its production which will allow it to organically develop into the final product.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“There is a lot to offer with this game and so it will be steadily updated, with new content added and may go well into 2020.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Features maybe added or removed as the production progresses. Current planned features are as follows:
  • Career mode (with skills and abilities)
  • Crew management
  • Player inventory
  • Steam Achievements and War memorabilia
  • Improved ballistics
  • Improved damage model
  • Improved fatigue mechanics
  • Smarter AI
  • Add additional playable vehicles
  • Continually add more weapons
  • Continually add more maps
  • Continually add more missions

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

  • Currently the game contains the core foundation and the main tank, which is a fully functional, T34-85 inspired “prototype” which allows for some flexibility to make the game a more fun and engaging experience
  • Start and drive the tank
  • Weapon system and ballistics: operate main gun and machine guns
  • Village outpost as player base
  • Tank gunnery and driving range
  • Basic AI

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price may gradually increase as new content is added to the game”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“A successful game is always a work in progress that continuously evolves with player feedback. As such, I strongly believe the best way to develop a quality game is to work in conjunction with the community and utilize player feedback early in its production and grant me the opportunity to create the best Action/Simulation VR Tank game possible. I will be using the Steam Discussion boards as the primary mean for feedback, suggestions, discussions etc.. but will also be closely monitoring and considering all feedback on reviews, Reddit, YouTube and other social media platforms as well.”

Pre-Release Update Announcement: Electrical and Drivetrain

Hello everyone, I am happy to inform you that we are one step closer to Early Access! Drivetrain and Electrical systems are now complete.

Electrical Switches and components:
1. Main Switch: main electrical switch that powers the entire electrical bus - Keep in mind that once the master switch is turned on, almost everything (including those LEDs you see) draw power. Take great care to conserve power for critical situations.
2. Battery Master: Main power switch for the battery.
3. Alternator: When the engine is running, this will recharge the battery and provide power for all electrical systems. Higher the engine RPM, the more power it generates
4. Fuel Boost Pump: An additional fuel pump that helps with engine start and helps increase fuel flow.
1. Engine Starter: Electrically starts the engine. It is used as one of the engine start methods, others being compressed air and hand crank (These are to be implemented later)
5. Engine Cut Off Switch: as the name suggests, it cuts the engine off
6. Battery Capacity Gauge: Shows how much percent battery you have left
7. Electrical Load Gauge: Higher is bad

Few more updates to follow but for the most part, engine and transmission (drivetrain) are complete.

Drivetrain components
1. Engine – Early Access will ship with a V12 500 HP engine (of course as the development progresses you will see more engines that you can upgrade with. Same is true for previously mentioned electrical parts
2. Transmission – 3 Speed (1-Low, 1, 2-High), 5 stage (Reverse, Neutral and 3 Forward Gears), Again, as the game development progresses you will see more variations
3. 5 Stage Shifter
4. Speedometer
5. RPM Gauge

Armored Front – Maiden Voyage

First of all, let us thank all our veterans this Memorial Day for their service and sacrifice. I have a special place in my heart for those who fought during WW2 - the greatest generation of warriors who have inspired me with their sacrifices of life, youth, and innocence to defend not only a nation but the whole world. Your sacrifices are the reason that my generation can enjoy the freedoms and privileges we have today. On this Memorial Day, I humbly thank and salute you! Wherever you are, may you find peace and happiness.

Secondly, Armored Front has reached a major milestone. I am happy to announce that yesterday marked the day of our tank's first drive under its own power. The V12 engine roared into life and the tank departed from a (classified) location and went for a little stroll. Please enjoy this little teaser below. Don't forget to leave feedback!

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!
