Freeflight is where you fly freely (Hence the name) without dying but you cannot shoot. Campaign is where you can shoot but you may die from crashing. The AI has been fixed. Most of them are just sitting ducks for you to shoot. Ultimately, 10 levels 7 shooting with death 3 without respectively. And Sitting ducks (airplanes)
