Why Early Access?

“Having Raven the Last Neko Slayer in early access allows me to collect input from other players to further develop my game. By further developing my game I can make sure it is something the Steam community will love.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Raven the Last Neko Slayer will be in Early Access until Blue Slayer Gaming is completed with the project. At this time, we plan to release the game within a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will offer more power ups and abilities, more playable areas for the player to explore, updated art work, more enemies, and much more.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Raven the Last Neko Slayer is currently in Beta 1.00. Beta 1.00 currently has a save system that auto saves, it also has 'base line' game art. The game art will be updated in future versions of the game. Also, there are over 70 areas for the player to explore, future updates will have more areas to explore and will be far more detailed. The map is comprised of 9 sections. Currently with Beta 1.00, there are still a few minor bugs that are being worked out. And lastly Beta 1.00 currently doesn't have any bosses implemented as of right now, but will be updated in future versions of the game. There is an auto save system for when the player gets a power up. There are 6 main power ups to allow the player to process through the game and 12 health power ups. Currently there are only 2 enemy types that are rendered differently for different sections in the game. Controller support is not available at this time however future releases will incorporate full controller support. 1 player only, keyboard and mouse are required to play.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, during early access the game cost will be significantly less than full version. As more and more updates are made to Raven the Last Neko Slayer the price will gradually increase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will check for groups on my game as well as messages, and start working on fixing any bugs, glitches, and create new gameplay for those who have ideas or opinions on how the game should be.”

About This Game

Raven: The Last Neko Slayer is a metroidvania game aiming to recapture the spirit of old action platformers with a unique style. It gives the player different abilities to progress through the game while offering a challenging atmosphere. If you loved games like Super Metroid, Ori and the Blind Forest, or Hollow Knight, then you are sure to love this game.

Inspired by classic metroidvania titles like Super Metroid, Ori and the Blind Forest, and Hollow Knight, Raven: The Last Neko Slayer combines gripping action, deep platforming, and a tale of revenge into an exciting package waiting to be experienced!

Raven: The Last Neko Slayer follows a young girl who embarks on a journey to get revenge for her mother's untimely death, only to discover a deeper plot at hand.

The game in its current state features over 70 levels across 7 regions, multiple powerups, autosave, and 2 enemy types. Future updates will expand on these mechanics and incorporate new features into the game.

Raven: The Last Neko Slayer is being developed with a quality end goal in mind, so the release date will remain to be determined until more core systems are complete.

[Update as of 10/04/2021] Alpha 1.0:
- This game is getting a complete revamp. Better graphics, better game play, more stable systems, etc.
- The final product isn't expected to be completed until late of next year.
- Major changes and improvements have been implemented. More updates to come.

- Changed Damage intake on all levels, currently all levels only do 1 damage until next update (Beta 1.20)
- Updated scripting so attacks feel more responsive.
- Added a downward and upward slash
- Removed issue with some areas getting a "Game Over" screen.
- Optimized programming for smoother transitions.
- Added dialog box after certain power ups.
- Added a feature that allows the player to 'bounce' off of enemies if a downward slash strikes an enemy.
