  • Players may now continue fighting the assault bosses for their buffs after killing all cores.
  • Moved the lamp post by the forge on assault.
  • Reduced Wave 17 yellow attack duration from 7s to 6s.
  • Reduced difficulty of Wave 17 yellow attack floor patterns.
  • Snowman slowing effect changed from a 50% to 30% reduction in movement speed.
  • Adjusted visual for Squire fire to further disambiguate it from 'Mischief Maker' fire.
  • Reduced damage radius of Final Jade's floor fire by 25%.
  • Increased Final Amethyst's projectile speed by 50% and reduced fire rate delay from 3.25s to 2.5s.

  • Reduced 'Assault Rifle' projectile slowing effect from 80% to 50% on Eternia Gauntlet.
  • Reduced Final Jade health by 33% on Eternia Gauntlet.
  • Reduced Final Amethyst health by 20% on Eternia Gauntlet.
  • Increased Barbarian move speed and increased her knockback on Eternia Gauntlet.

Quality of Life
  • Removed build timers from most maps if Hardcore Mode is not active.
  • Reduced ogre counts on Ruthless difficulty by 40% for most maps. The Campaign versions of the base Campaign; Glitterhelm, and the four 'Shards' maps are unaffected, as well as all Challenge maps except Temple of Polybius.
  • Made enemies have a chance to drop extra items on Ruthless difficulty to make Ruthless Survivals more appealing.

New Content
Ruthless Difficulty
Ruthless breathes new life into early-game content with map-specific difficulty increases! Older maps receive larger difficulty adjustments to bring them more in-line with newer content that's generally balanced with seasoned defenders in mind. Recently introduced maps receive smaller adjustments, although players will find them more challenging nonetheless!

  • Alchemical Laboratory, The Throne Room and The Summit maps drop new baby pet variants of their respective bosses when beating the maps during Campaign mode on Ruthless difficulty;

    • Baby Demon Lord - Obtained via Campaign Mode on Alchemical Laboratory.
    • Baby Mech - Obtained via Campaign Mode on The Throne Room.
    • Baby Ancient Dragon - Obtained via Campaign Mode on The Summit.


  • Temple of Polybius, True Boss Rush, Halloween Invasion, and todays new addition; Eternia Gauntlet have increased rewards on Ruthless Difficulty.

  • While playing on Ruthless, items from all maps have higher chance to be 'Ultimate++' quality. Additionally, rewards from original Campaign maps and challenges have been scaled up to current gear standards.

Pursue the Crystalline Squire across Etheria, conquering each challenge and villain they've assembled to impede you!


This map provides two unique rewards to triumphant defenders; the Lumeric Staff and Abyssal Fin Sword.

New DLC
Warping Core Challenge Pack II
This DLC pack grants players access to Arcane Library, Omenak and Infested Ruins maps with the Warping Core game modifier! Defenders will need to be both fleet of foot and quick of wit to conquer the challenge ever-wandering cores pose. Those who are successful in their defense will be rewarded with the coveted Zamira set;

  • Zamira Bracers - Obtained by completing Warping Cores: Arcane Library.
  • Zamira Mask - Obtained by completing Warping Cores: Omenak.
  • Zamira Hat - Obtained by completing Warping Cores: Infested Ruins.
When all three pieces of the Zamira set are equipped, players will dawn a unique set bonus; butterfly wings! Moreover, each time players complete all three maps—consecutively or not—they will be rewarded with a new feathered friend upon returning to their tavern; Zamira's Mount!

  • Significantly sped-up War of the Djinn and Rumble in the Jungle on all difficulties.
  • Significantly increased the time the Djinn spends in the lamp during Rumble in the Jungle.

  • Fixed an issue where the Barbarian could get stuck upon level victory.
  • Fixed max core HP on Deeper Well: No Towers Allowed challenge.
  • Fixed an issue where pressing V at any time during the map would always skip the 'boss timer' on Crystal Cave.
  • Fixed an issue where players could not interact with presents while in build phase.
  • Fixed an ability bug for Crystalline Resurgence III and Nightmare True Boss Rush Great Old One.

Crystal Caves
Enter the lava-filled caverns of the Crystalline Dimension and defend the Eternia Crystal against the enemies dwelling within!
  • Rewards new crystal weapons for each class; Crystal Sword, Crystal Gun, Crystal Staff, and Crystal Spear.
  • Rewards new 'Etherian Ancient' and 'Chromatic Gemstone' pets. on Survival waves 25 and 35, respectively. Rewards 'Hero Animus' pet(s) on Survival wave 30.


Crystal Caves: No Towers Allowed
The bosses within have disabled your towers. Defend the Crystal without them!
  • Has the potential to drop high-quality armor--an 'Ultimate++' piece approximately every 32 runs.
Palantir
  • Added 'Squire' boss.
  • Buffed accessory quality on Palantir to be on-par with other endgame accessories.

Quality of Life
  • Made 'Step Towards Melee Target' option a button-toggle atop the UI option (default keybind 'Control + Z').
  • Equipping items no longer drops equipped items when the item box is full.
  • Armor can now be earned from 'True Boss Rush' mode.
  • Added option to remove only armor or accessories by holding down 'Shift' or 'Control' when clicking 'Unequip All gear' button.
Balance Changes
  • Goblin Copters now use their held enemy's elemental damage resistance.
  • 'Tropics of Etheria' has received a loot-quality nerf on Survival Mode to be on-par with 'Coastal Bazaar'.
  • Reduced Ranger's 'Spread Shot' base damage by 25%.
  • Increased Barbarian's 'Hawk' base damage by 5%.
  • Huntress' Shadow Step now costs 30 mana.
  • Reintroduced Huntress' 'Invisibility' ability alongside 'Shadow Step'.
  • Apprentice's 'Overcharge' now grants a speed boost.
  • Changed bonus damage on staves from 18% to 23% to make it more feasible to beat the 'Rainmaker'.
  • Reduced Countess' 'Call to Arms' damage resistance by 20%.
  • 'Crystalline Resurgence Four' rewards are no longer limited to one per account.
  • Hermit's 'Whirlwind' now grants invulnerability to negative states effects.
  • Implemented a damage nerf for high-end 'Honey Guns'.
  • 'Shield of Hearts' now has a one-second cooldown for its healing effect.
Fixes
  • Siege Mechs are now properly affected by Hermit's 'Web Wall'.
  • Fixed 'Piercing Shot' ability appearing too large when off-host.
  • Fixed Deeper Well map giving unintended experience,
  • Fixed frame-rate limit not being selectable on controller.
  • Experience orbs and pirate mana tokens now use the same sound the mana token.

  • New Weapons for all classes.

Quality of Life
  • 'Sell All' button no longer sells forged items.
  • Added colorblind settings for item box frame colors and minimap colors in CDT settings.
  • Event items with custom beam colors are now reflected on the minimap.
  • Made 'Mythical', 'Ult+', and 'Ult++' colors within description reflect the actual default quality color.
  • Made 'Ult++' in shop get automatically locked when generated.
Balance Changes
Pure Strategy Rework
  • All towers cost more DU to build on repeated placements. Sharken, Djinn and Copter Ogre spawn rate increased.
Barbarian
  • Added 'Chain Lightning' damage on hit with 'Lightning Stance'.
Huntress
  • Hero damage scaling increased.
  • 'Super Legendary Huntress' movement speed increased by 20%
  • 'Piercing Shot' projectile speed increased
  • 'Piercing Shot' size/hitbox and damage now scale with distance travelled.
  • 'Piercing Shot' now scales more efficiently with 'ab2', and less so with gun damage.
  • 'Invisibility' ability changed to 'Shadow Step', a new damage-dodge mechanic with a set duration and cooldown. Provides a short distance 'blink' upon activation.
Ranger
  • Hero damage scaling increased.
  • Ranger movement speed increased by 25%.
  • 'Piercing Spreadshot' increased projectiles by 2.
  • 'Each projectile of 'Piercing Spreadshot' has a different damage type.
Initiate
  • Changed HP scaling to that of the Monk's.
Miscellaneous
  • Slightly increased experience gained and drop quality on early game maps.
  • 'Moonbase' awards more experience; 1.00 -> 1.25.
  • Made Owls larger; 1.65 -> 1.8.
  • All staffs excluding the 'Rainmaker', 'Moon Staff' and 'Ember Sceptre' do 18% more damage.
  • Reverted Fireball tower damage reduction (damage increased by 18%).
  • 'Temple of Water' now has the same quality of drops as 'Infested Ruins'.
  • Harpoon tower now pierces terrain.
Fixes
  • Size sorting now uses actual drawscale of pets for sorting.
  • Pet size info now based on actual drawscale of pet as opposed to a percentile value which was inaccurate.
  • Removed out-of-bounds collisions for Omenak.
  • Fixed 'Wood Rifle' not granting 1.1x movement speed multiplier.
  • Fixed bHardcore on CDT settings always using the open/local option when initializing the game for the first time.
  • Fixed 'Emerald Staff' and 'Staff of Hearts' not showing their gems when dropped on the ground on lower graphical settings.
  • Fixed issue where taking damage as a player attempts to jump would cancel the jump.
  • Made 'Tavern Owl' smaller.
  • Fixed an issue in Crystalline Dimension's Fourth Area where mobs would continue to spawn after killing the bosses if they had been killed too quickly.
  • Removed north fish spawner from Temple of Water.
