Why Early Access?

“While the game is currently playable and fun, it is not what we would consider finished. We strive to make it the best it can possibly be, which can happen through the feedback we will receive from an Early Access release. We would like to hear opinions from the community that will be taken into consideration as we work towards finishing our game. Our goal is to release a game that runs seamlessly and is enjoyable to many, and Early Access is the most effective way of getting there.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“While we imagine that we need another 6 months to really be where we feel this is finished, is a game ever finished? We can and will maintain and add to this game as long as there is interest. Se you can expect Crypt Hunter to grow and expand even beyond final release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have constructed Crypt Hunter in a very modular way. We create assets and can add a new dungeon environment, new characters, weapons, loot. Expect to see more variation of everything.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“You can explore multiple dungeons at varying difficulties. Our battle system is in place and you can fight many variations of creatures and get loot. We have hundreds of weapons.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We have an early release price with a launch discount of 25%. The price will gradually rise as we add content and features towards actual release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is very important to us for growing Crypt Hunter into the game we and you want it to be.”

Patch 0.1.8

Sorry we haven't written patch notes in a while, we have been updating pretty regularly so if you want a comprehensive list of what has been added, here it is!

Major Changes
  • Added a new level type, The sewer! this is just the start and we will be expanding these even more in upcoming updates.

  • New Cel-Shading! enemies and certain items are cel-shaded now, but it's going to expand to much more.

  • New AI. Now enemies won't be able to see you around corners and will act generally smarter.


Smaller Changes
  • Added doors to dungeons.

  • Climbable ladders added to some dungeons. squeeze the trigger with an empty hand to grip the ladder.

  • Look at weapons to see their stats.

  • Press left on your pad without movement to see your own personal stats.

  • Armor on enemies will increase their defenses.

  • Sword swings are based on physical swinging. you can no longer flail to do good damage, now you have to actually swing hard or stab better.

  • lots of bug fixes. if we find any bugs we try to fix them that day.

We have a lot of stuff upcoming, including new enemies and even bosses. So keep an eye out. we will be updating a lot more.

Crypt Hunter 0.1.1 Release Notes.

We have Changed a lot from 0.1.0 to 0.1.1. This patch is mostly just foundation improvements to make the game better moving forward. You'll notice a lot of fundamental changes in how the game is played. If you're interested here is the full patch notes
    Interaction
  • All grabbing is now done using the triggers
  • things that can be interacted with now glow when hovering your hand
    over it
  • Hands are now corporeal! no longer translucent.
  • added two holsters to the hips so you can store weapons at your side.
  • Handles are now on doors that you use to open them.
    Movement
  • Three movement options
  • can be accessed by pressing the menu button
  • Sliding using the trackpad
  • Slide teleport using a teleport that will slide you to your destination
  • blink teleport that will blink you to your destination
    Miscellaneous
  • Added music to the tavern
  • Now will display the name of the weapon and it's stats when looking at it.
  • a new death area.
  • tweaks to the battle system
  • updates to much of the dungeons so you can't fall through anymore.

In the coming updates
We realize many people would like some more feature rich updates coming and this last update was really just a foundation to add more to the game now. A few things you will be seeing is, new enemies, new environments, Magical weapons, drinkable potions, and a lot more. About This Game



Crypt Hunter is a VR action roguelike dungeon crawl imagined in voxels.

This is the game we wanted to play in VR. We want to be in the roguelike as the main char and see what is happening through our eyes. We think that people like you share this desire and VR has made it completely possible. Join us as a Crypt Hunter, adventure and glory await.

Become the adventurer, tempt fate and possibly die horribly while seeking riches and fame. Search hidden dungeons and caves for legendary items while defeating the denizens protecting it. The adventure is endless, the places you visit will be different every time, surprise and danger at every turn.

  • Permadeath, you only get one chance at this, make the best of it.

  • Original voxel and low poly artwork.
  • Quest system, there are reasons to go into those dungeons other than random loot!
