What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are at a point in development where we have a huge backlog of awesome features that could be added to the game but we want to get some player feedback as to what you like, what you feel is important, what we might be doing poorly, etc. This feedback will help us prioritize the years of work still in our backlog and present the content that players want to see as quickly as possible.

Ultimately we want the game to be fun for our players. It's already fun for us to play so let us know what you think :)”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This will ultimately be dictated by the amount of feedback we receive from our players but we estimate 6-8 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“All of the core systems are in the game currently; crafting, combat, skills, vendoring, questing, visual effects, sounds, etc. There are 8 maps of varying sizes with mobs and quests which offer 3-6 hours of content depending on your play speed and the mobs adjust themselves to your level allow for replay ability after your first clear.

For the full game we will be adding more story content that will increase the content for the first time playthrough. The goal for the first release is 10-15 hours of content depending on your play speed. There will be a few quality of life features added for the full release including a player stash, steam achievements, modular crafting, increased diversity of monster abilities, more armor sets, unique items and a new playable character.

In short the game is very playable right now but the full release will have more story content and some additional quality of life features.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is playable from start to finish in 3 to 6 hours depending on how fast you play. There is substantially more play-ability if you replay the content as the max player level is very high you can keep leveling and fight tougher foes almost indefinitely.

Then even if you max out the player level there are millions of skill and item combinations for the players to try out.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the base price will remain the same. However, there will be an early access discount for some of all of the early access period.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We would like to work with our community both on the Steam platform and also on our site forums at”

About This Game

Imperatum is an Action RPG set in a future Sci-Fi universe.

You are an agent, thrown headfirst into your first mission trying to unravel the mystery of the veil that is consuming the galaxy.

The game focuses on the core ARPG 'trinity' mechanics of fast-paced combat, deep character customization and tons of loot!

Key Features

  • Intense combat - A hallmark of this genre and Imperatum delivers! Battle your way through 8 levels and more than a dozen different enemy types!

  • Character customization - Familiar stat and skill allocation with a twist. Skills can be used in active mode or slotted in other skills for a passive effect. Want your fire bomb to heal you? Done! Want your Three Shot Burst to explode and irradiate your enemies? Done and done! This active passive system with 48 unique skills allows for near limitless combinations.

  • All the loot - Love finding loot? There is so much loot we had to implement a recycling feature that allows players to turn extra loot into crafting currencies on the fly instead of having to run back to town.

  • Vast Sci-Fi Universe - Have you played the other big ARPG's and wonder why there was no good Sci-Fi game? It is our passion to deliver that experience that has been missing in the genre. No more high fantasy, dark fantasy or voxel settings. Just good old fashioned Sci-Fi awesomesauce.

  • Targeting Overlay - It can be frustrating at times to not have visual indicators for how far your skills work. We sought to solve this with a toggle-able targeting overlay that displays your skills range and area of effect.

  • Pro Social and Health Mechanics - Being a gamer in 2017 is hard. There are so many good games and so little time it can be hard to pull yourself away. We feel that as developers it is part of our ethical duty to encourage gamers to make healthy choices. To that end we have been implementing and testing systems within the game to encourage players to make healthy choices. Let us know what you think!
