What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Your early support will help us make improvements to the game. Early Access is a great platform as it gives us the ability to get feedback from new players, as well as our existing community on new and existing content. Edge of Atlantis is being developed with full transparency to our players, and we will make adjustments and additions based directly on your suggestions.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are aiming at finishing within 6 to 12 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The core physics combat, magic systems, crafting and RPG mechanics are all in place, and more maps, monsters, lore, challenges, weapons and items will be added as the game is being developed.

We'll also investigate a possibility for co-op play.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“There is roughly 6+ hours of content for each play-through. However, this is a rogue-like game, which means the world will be fresh and different with new challenges each time players start a new character.

We have 5 professions, 3 different starting realms - each with 5 map levels roughly the size of 12 football fields wide in VR. Currently we have a total of 16 monster types, 100+ weapons, 36+ items.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will likely go up through development, depending on the amount of content and features we will be implementing.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will conduct bi-weekly discussions through the Edge of Atlantis Steam Group to collect feedback

We'll also update the community with videos about new features every few weeks as they are being rolled out.

Keep players updated with posts on the Edge of Atlantis Steam page, social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube) and VR Subreddits.”

Alpha Build - June progress update

Void Snatcher - ability preview

Hi Everyone!

Here’s a bit of lore to go with our update:

“All beings seek to transcend their current state of existence. They seek knowledge, they also seek power. They seek the power to rise above and claim a place in the vast unknown universe.

Magic’s mystical forces sing a melody that ripples through the fabric of space and time. Everything is connected, from the tallest mountain, to the tiniest insect.

All magic is connected…it’s in the fire, living and burning… in the air we breath in... ever changing like water…. filled with light and wisdom…

Take heed adventurer, few have been able to harness its greatest secrets …….and overcome its gravest dangers….” - traveling bard

We’d like to give a quick update on our current progress:

Combat is super interesting - the combat experience has been reworked to add variety, depth and made challenging.

We’re working on continuing to add more survival elements such as drinks, and more varieties of food types, resources and crafting recipes

We’re also working on a new boss, and we will add several new original monsters to the game.

New weapons that fit our game lore are also being created

Everyone on our team has been working non-stop to get the alpha together, and we can’t wait to show you our hard work!

Dev Update: procedural weapon system, new creature design and more

Hey everyone,

Just a quick update on our development progress for the last 10 days:

Get ready to find an endless supply of loots because we wrapped up our infinite procedural weapon system, giving our players an endless amount of random items to play with similar to those found in Diablo and Torchlight, both games with which we have great respect and love for. So, please stay tuned for more updates on this as we polish the system to fit our game lore and class design.

During this time, We also created our own custom bow and arrow weapon system and dropped the native bow stuff, which is pretty exciting for us and we look forward to bringing you an interesting and deep hunter class experience.

Furthermore, we also took a few moments to finish some art and creature design for 10+ new monsters unique to our game world and more will be added as we flesh out our ideas.

Bug fixes wise, we're super thankful for all the great feedback we received and have taken the steps to fix major issues with the belt such as item switching bugs from the toolbar as well as the loss of belt tracking from time to time. Stuff we'll update for the demo but only after we've wrapped up work on the Alpha.

Right now, we are working on two-handed weapon mechanics, dungeon design, general gameplay stuff to flesh out the alpha build and designing the game world focusing on lore, class and story development for our players

We are very grateful for all the support we've received and look forward to bringing you an amazing and fun indie VR RPG game. Thanks again everyone and we'll keep you updated.

“The aim is to have each play-through be a fresh experience, drawing upon the traditions set by games such as Diablo and Torchlight”

About This Game

Edge of Atlantis is a Room-Scale VR Action Role-Playing Game for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift+Touch. Experience realistic physics-based combat and hardcore permadeath mode in a roguelike fantasy open-world, with procedurally enchanted weapons, strategic magical battles and dynamic events...

Play as a Druid, Mage, Paladin, Hunter, Berserker, and more coming soon...

Battle through endless hordes of diverse life-size monsters. Strike your foes with ferocity and precision to maximize your damage through the power of physics. Learn to read the movement of your enemies to block/parry incoming attacks and time your counters.

Over 100 magical, melee and ranged weapons. Combo procedurally enchanted weapons with your spells, and skills. For example, use an ice enchanted magic sword that freezes your enemies while triggering your ice thorns spell ability.

The more your character grows, the more abilities your character unlocks with different weapons. All professions will not only be able to use all weapons but also excel at those fitting to the profession’s theme and play style.

Journey through various inter-dimensional magical realms. Every play-through will be a fresh experience filled with dynamic events in a procedurally generated game world. Participate in and experience quest events in the world as they happen around you, and see the world change and respond to your actions.

Level your character, get new skills, obtain unique weapons, and unlock new worlds. Complete quests, collect resources, and craft food, potions, items and weapon to survive in a dangerous fantasy world.

Meaningful permadeath is optional in our game, but we want to allow players who decide to play with the hardcore permadeath mode to have the ability to revive an old save by means of completing a revival quest on a new permadeath character.

Use your environment, hurl boulders, light fires, and rain destruction on your enemies. Learn conjuring spells to summon powerful magical allies to your aid, master the elements, and create unique magical combos and strategies to outsmart your enemies.

The story takes place in Atlantis, the most advanced civilization in human history. Atlanteans forged a legendary sword, named: Edge of Atlantis. This legendary sword could bend the very fabric of space and time to its wielder's will. Eowauf, an evil sorcerer, hoping to take the sword for himself, sealed Atlantis in a time loop and escaped into the timeless realms.

You embark on a journey to restore Atlantis from the edge of time, even though you know each realm you are exploring is extremely dangerous…
