What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The competitive shooting sport is very versatile and has very flexible stage design rules which can require a lot of rule changes, innovative prop development and interesting shooting puzzles. By working with the community early, we could get a lot of feedback and feature requests that we can include to enhance the overall experience of this simulation.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to release this game in the winter of 2017. (approx 6 months in Early Access)”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Lots more game modes, props, stage packs (Area 1, Nationals etc), official classifiers, and many added guns. We also intend to build in support for Downloadable content (stages, props etc) and include a stage design tool where players can build and share their own stages.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Playable game with 16 different pistols, four game modes (USPSA, IPSC, ProAm, Steel Challenge), over 20+ stages, realistic props like a texas star, death star, irish plate rack, polish plate rack, movers, swingers and clamshells. We also have accurate representation of game rules and scoring.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't believe that the price of this game will change post Early Access. There will be additional cost for DLCs and future features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're so excited to let the community play this game and give us feedback. Most of the changes we've made so far all come from good feedback from our early testers. The community can expect us to release regular updates which includes new stages, props, guns and game modes, as we drive towards release.”

Update #42 - Area 1 2017 Stage 5, Reposition Gun, Auto save stage thumbnail when sharing

Week #42. This week's stage is Stage 5 from the 2017 Area One Championships in Utah. I've also allowed for repositioning the gun in 3D space for those who are using the tracker devices and want to customize the position of the gun. Also, now when sharing, the game will automatically create a thumbnail.

Changelog v0.54
* USPSA Area One 2017 Stage Five
* Reposition Gun
* Auto save stage image when sharing
* Fixed custom stage description

Update #41 - Scoreboards while browsing stages, match mode improvements, Paper Poppers score reset.

Week #41. I'll start off with something bad this week. The classifier stage, CM03-05 Paper Poppers was not honoring the mandatory reload rule, meaning you could get away without reloading, which explains how fast some of the top scores were. Fixed the problem but I would have to "throw out the stage" and reset all the scores for Paper Poppers to be fair. Sorry for doing this but here's your opportunity to try for top stop all over again :)

We've also implemented scoreboards in the stage browsing menu so you can see if anyone beat your score before choosing to play it. Also lots of fixes with match mode. Here's a more comprehensive list.

Changelog v0.53
* Paper Poppers Not honoring mandatory reload
* Paper Poppers score reset (throwing out stage)
* Show scoreboard in main menu when browsing stages
* Remove stage from match list
* Course designer name incorrect
* Steel Challenge DQ end stage works correctly
* Fixed retry option during match mode
* Fixed stuck in match mode when returning from match
