What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access is a great opportunity to get feedback from new players on existing and new content and to grow our community.

Pinball Wicked will be a multi table pinball game. For the included Black Flaggers pinball table we will gather your feedback to modify, balance, polish and finalize the game play and design.
Your ideas, suggestions and feedback will guide us from the get-go for the upcoming dlc tables.

Together we can make Pinball Wicked an illuminating celebration of the rollin' steel ball.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to update and grow the game in Early Access until 2 additional table DLCs are complete and polished.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version the following features are planned:
  • Three original tables available (1 included, 2 as purchasable DLCs)
  • Multi-player challenges
  • Local and online leaderboards
  • Multi-player tournaments (official and user created)
  • Lower minimum system requirements

DLC features:
  • Alternate game modes
  • Custom physics settings
  • Custom camera presets
  • "Glass Off Mode" - move, shoot and catch the ball by hand

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Pinball Wicked currently contains all the core systems that will be evolved, calibrated and optimized during Early Access.

The included Black Flaggers pinball table boasts a wealth of pinball game elements, which will be balanced, adjusted and expanded based on the player feedback we receive.

Black Flaggers will stay under heavy development during the early Early Access and is not final in the current state. At the moment we're focused on completing the modes/missions with more and more visuals (light shows, characters, fx, dmd gfx/animations) and sounds. The following modes/missions will be activated with one of the next updates: The Treasure Fleet (Grand Finale), The Raiders (Loot Event), The Booty Bonanza (Loot Event), The Buccaneer Frenzy, The Hidden Cove (Mystery). Here is the Black Flaggers Rules Flow Chart for an overview.

For a detailed view of the features we're currently working on - have a look at the Pinball Wicked Roadmap here:

If your rig doesn't meet the current minimum system requirements:
A low end version which will support integrated gpus / low end graphics cards / notebooks is in the works too, so click on follow and we'll keep you updated.

And if you can't do without VR:
We expect to have an update for you soon.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The base price and table dlc prices might go up, down or stay the same during and after the Early Access. It is most likely that we will slightly raise the base price with the release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will collect your ideas and feedback and keep you informed about design decisions and the development process with regular updates.

You can follow the current development on our roadmap here:

You can give us feedback at any time while playing the game via the discussion forum.”

What? Characters on my playfield? Pure Mode coming up next: Keeping it real!

While we really love it, we also love a purer pinball experience, so you'll be happy to know that we're already working on a "Pure Mode" which keeps it real: with this setting no characters are interacting with the balls or jump on the playfield. This is scheduled for the next update.

Currently we're working under the following paradigm: if it's not purely cosmetic (like particle fx) and if it is on the playfield / ball interacting and couldn't be done on a real table it should be optional.

We'd very much like to hear your thoughts!

What we're working on right now
  • Pure Mode: Don't like characters pounding the beloved steel balls? Activate pure mode to have the classic pinball experience -> no ball interacting characters on your playfield!
  • Local Highscores
  • The Treasure Map
  • The Pirate Hunter
  • The Hidden Cove
  • The Buccaneer Frenzy
  • more sounds / lightshows / fx for existing missions
  • balancing: some missions will block each other, e.g. no pirate battle during adventures. Some are still meant to be playable at the very same time, e.g. Buccaneer missions.

Stay tuned! Have fun! Flip out!
