What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We understand that games today are ever-changing, adding, correcting and improving their content constantly, with that in mind we decided to release a working part of our game so that we can get suggestions and ideas to improve the game as we are finishing it, in order to provide a better final experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect to finish the story of the game by the second quarter of 2017.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More levels will be added to the game to complete the story and provide more variety to the gameplay of the story as well as the survival mode.
We expect to have leader boards, achievements and a more complicated and strategic survival mode.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The story just started, the current experience is the intro to the world, revealing part of the situation the player is in but not diving into the plot.
Survival mode is currently a bare-bone version of itself, a simple horde type wave-based shooting experience.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The size of the game and the people that worked on it for free just for the sake of making our first game allows us to make this free to play, the price (if any) of the final product will heavily depend on how the team decides to move on.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The reason we are using early access is because we want to get impressions and recommendations from the community, please let us know your thoughts and comments on the experience, we are here to learn and improve.”

FovosVR Update v1.0.1

During these last few days we received some (mostly) helpful comments and suggestions and made some changes to the game, mostly corrections and adjustments, while we are still working on improving the overall gameplay experience and survival mode.

Here is a list of changes:

  • Improvements on the collision detection of the gun on lower frame-rates.
  • Added an options menu for changing graphic presets and volumes (left controller menu button).
  • Reduced the duration of the first story sequence, people seems to stop playing before they reached the rest.
  • Added a way to skip the car intro sequence.
  • Added/Improved some tutorial instructions.
  • Lowered grass movement to prevent nausea when playing while closer to the ground (sitting down, etc...).
  • Reduced zombie range, zombies now get closer to the player for a better effect.

Thank you for trying the game out, please continue to give us your comments/recommendations.

About This Game

"You know, what surprised me most, was not that they went that far with genetic mutations. Or, that somehow this god-knows-what strain popped out in somebody’s system and started spreading. Nah, that’s child’s play compared to their crazy plan.

They tried to hide it. You think I’m joking, right? I wish I was.

Truth is, they never stood a chance. We never stood a chance."

Fovos is a post-apocalyptic horror, rail shooter for the HTC Vive, set in a future where an omnipotent AI is taking over human brains through genetic implants. Even if you survive, will there be anything left to live with?

Game Modes:

  • Story-driven Single Player Campaign
  • Survival mode - Fight against hordes of incoming zombies to rock the leaderboards (leaderboard integration coming soon)

We are working on adding to the story as well as the survival mode, we appreciate all helpful feedback on our game and we're interested in any suggestions to improve it!
