Early Access Recap

Salvage Op has received a slew of small patches during the two week Early Access period. We wanted to take a moment to highlight the changes of these smaller patches as a whole so that they are easier for users to track.

Below is a complete list of categorized build notes from the Early Acess period which should be easier to track.

Artificial Intelligence

  • Fixed an AI related issue on the Upper Deck level.
  • Spider movement speed has been reduced.
  • Made adjustments to spider AI to make them less likely to ignore players.
  • Reduced spider aggro range slightly.
Combat
  • Fixed a bug which was causing point blanks shots to miss in cases where they should have landed.
  • Reduced the spread radius of the flack shooters slightly which should make it easier to aim.
  • Fixed a bug which was causing flack shooters to be fire sometimes when they were already reloaded.

General

  • Updated to Unreal Engine 4.14.1.
  • The lowest graphics setting now has a higher image quality.
  • The extreme graphics setting is now slightly less extreme.
  • Corrected some bad pathing on the Upper Deck map.
  • Fixed a teleportation issue on the top of some staircases.
  • Fixed a bug on the Lower Deck map which allowed players to teleport to the roof if they attempted to teleport to one of a few select corners.
  • Removed some debug text which was being printed to the logs.

Localization

  • Added localization support for Simplified Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Russian, German, French, Italian and Spanish. Switch languages by clicking the appropriate flag on the main menu.

Oculus Touch

Although Touch access should still be considered in beta mode, we have made a number of improvements based on Oculus player feedback already and the game should be functioning properly for the most part with the Touch at this point.

  • The weapon fire and trigger buttons have been swapped for Oculus Touch users as it felt more intuitive.
  • Potentially fixed a bug which was causing the fire button to be stuck on in when pressed.
  • Fixed a bug which was causing jittery controls with the Oculus Touch in some cases.
