What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want players' opinions on what we need to improve about our game. We have new gamemodes and maps in progress and coming out as soon as we can build and test them.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6 months. Enough time to hopefully fine tune our game to the best it can be with our players' feedback in mind.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“There will be more levels and additional game-modes will be offered. Sets of different themed levels are planned. Steam leaderboards and Achievements will be added soon, with leaderboards coming within the first month of release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable, and all of the basic features are in place. There are some bugs in the current version we hope to fix soon. Additional features and some levels are disabled until testing by our development team are complete.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We have no plans of changing our pricing throughout Early Access and release. Future game-modes and maps will be released free of charge.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We hope to take our players' feedback to improve upon both player experience and our satisfaction with Tower Ascent as a finished game. We plan to fix any bugs or glitches found by players that may have slipped by us during the initial development process. We will also do our best to accommodate any player suggestions that will improve their overall experience.”

Update v0.3.1: Helper mode is live!

It's finally here! We've been working hard to get the Helper gamemode out for you guys. It is an asymmetrical co-op gameplay mode with its own levels. There are 5 new levels in total. The gameplay consists of the climbing you all know by now, but with the addition of a friendly Helper. The Helper controls a bow from the computer, and they can shoot arrows into the wall of the towers to help the climber reach the top of the tower. These arrows can be used to create handholds to help the climber reach new places or just to take shortcuts. They can even take care of a pesky guard or two.

In other news, some small bug fixes and tweaks are also in this update. The only major fix being the next level button in level 1 was taking players to level 10. Not exactly the difficulty curve we intended. We apologize for that.

We will also be making a new trailer to better reflect the current game, but due to circumstances that may take upwards of a week and a half.

Thank you for your patience, and as celebration for this update we are also putting the game on sale for a limited time starting 3/20/17 at 10AM so don't miss your chance!

HotFix: Level 9's Starting location.

We corrected a bug that caused the player to start at the finish line of level 9 without the ability to finish the level. The level should now be fully functioning.
