Why Early Access?

“EARLY ACCESS will help us avoid spending time designing levels around gameplay that is not enjoyed by our player base. This VR title relies on new locomotion based gameplay mechanics, and we want to make sure we focus our time and effort building the type of levels that people enjoy playing.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Updated - We'll remain in Early Access until Q2 2017 as we polish gameplay, build out our levels and add additional features. Some dependencies in our tech stack delayed development (which was shifted to other games yet-to-be-announced).”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full game will feature the following:

  • 50+ levels (final levels will be much longer than current levels)
  • Additional gameplay elements (obstacles, challenges, mechanics, etc.)
  • Additional Stat & Leaderboard support (daily leaders, etc.)
  • Extensive Achievements
  • Replay ghosts to challenge your best times and those of the global leaders.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable. Early release includes:
  • Climb walls, ropes, bars. Walk/run across beams and platforms. Leap from hold to hold.
  • Sample of 18 preview levels which demonstrate some early gameplay mechanics.
  • STEAM Leaderboard support for the best time on each level.

Early Access includes a small sampling of levels that will expand over time. We expect to add additional levels with each update as we work toward the release of the full version.

Leaderboard support for best global times for each level is also included today.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We're launching with a reduced price during Early Access. As more and more content is released, our price will rise accordingly.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback is key to success. We're open to any and all feedback as we know it will help identify issues and opportunities to make this the best game it can be. We'd like to hear feedback from players via the Steam forums.”

Stability Update Released Today

A minor update was released today to resolve potentially game-crashing bugs. If anyone is seeing crashes after this update, please let me know.

Work is continuing on new features, levels and bug fixes. The game will change significantly with the next release, which I'm hoping to have out by the end of the year.

Looking ahead to 2018, I see great things ahead for this game!

Exciting News - New Release on Steam!

I'm very excited to tell you that a new release is now on Steam.

This release is the first of many to come. This is basically a re-write of the game with improvements to the climbing engine. It's not perfect, but it's a first step of getting everything working so I can focus on adding content. New levels and new mechanics are in the works. I can't wait to start building some really awesome levels.

** Known Issues **

- Leaderboards have been reset. There may also be an issue with posting new times to the leaderboards. I'm working on fixing it now.. FIXED!

- If you are walking/running and sliding to a stop, and then try start walking in a new direction, you will continue in the original direction. This is also being worked on.

- Many of the levels start with the player facing the wrong way. This will be addressed so you always face forward as forward is configured in SteamVR.

** In This Release **

+ Checkpoints - some of the more annoying levels now have checkpoints. If you fall, you will restart at the last checkpoint. (Note - some levels have checkpoints, but will not detect falls yet... Future levels will be designed to make fall detection simpler.. See Level #6 as an example.)

+ Hands! - You now have hands. Also, there is an indicator to show which hand is holding a grip. Customized skin tones will be available in the future.

+ A few reworked/new levels (Level #6, #19-27)

+ Collision detection should be greatly improved.

** Coming Soon **

+ Many new levels (expect longer more complex levels)
+ New game mechanics (new obstacles, abilities, etc.)
+ Level progression (medals for times, level unlocks)
+ Replays / Ghosts
+ Sound/Music (I know the game is way too quiet)

I'm excited to deliver more content and deliver the great game this is meant to be.
