My sim was very sad when his friend Carl passed away, so I "resurrected" Carl as a ghost so we could still chill together like old times. But then the dude wouldn't leave. I mean, I know he needed a place to crash, and I was happy to let him sleep on my couch, but he was the worst ****ing houseguest ever. He ate all my food (I still haven't figured out how ghosts eat), left dirty dishes all over, broke my shower and hogged my computer.

And if that weren't enough, when I invited my girlfriend over for some quality woohoo time, Carl started flirting with her!! My sim went to bed alone, frustrated and ****ed off.

Thanks for nothing, Carl, you ****ing ****blocking dirtbag.

I absolutely love this game and I've wasted way too many hours playing it, but why does the DLC have to be SO expensive? Especially when considering that the next generation of the game has already been released. I understand offering additional content for a little extra, but The Sims 3 takes this way too far. Either make the expansions cheaper or offer more in each one, because they aren't worth $20 as they are now.

First off, this game is good. It's very good. You can do a lot of things in this game that can't really be done easily in real life, like electrocuting Taylor Swift or something. Do I recommend it?

Depends.

The base game is good, obviously, but what ♥♥♥♥es you and me off is Egoistic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s (EA)'s decision to release about more than 20 DLCs separately. Now this isn't exactly the worst thing, but the costs of each individual DLC is astronomical. $34.99 for an expansion pack, even if it is Into the Future (which is kind of cool), is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Whoever sets the costs have to be high, drunk, and mentally challenged at the same time. That is more than 3 times the price of Goat Simulator, for example. Also, most of the expansion packs cost $24.99, which is also "coincidentally" the same price for each Stuff pack. Yeah, they do bring a lot to the game, but wouldn't it be just nice for Maxis (or EA?) to put at least some of these features, such as Pets and Seasons, in the base game? Now I have to wait for the sales.

I would want to recommend the base game, but the problem is that the lack of features WILL make you want to buy the DLCs. It is really good marketing strategies, to be honest, but it is morally criminal.

Holy moly, I never thought the sims could get better, but when i got the base game i was absolutely blown away. i didnt last more than a few days without wanting to get all of the other packs to date (and i did just that) . pricey compiled, but so worth it if you are a simmer. not going to get the sims 4 just yet, i want to finish playing the sims 3 completely, with more than 700 hours put into it, the packs i have, and those that i have yet to get, im sure i will probably spend well over another 2 years playing happily on sims 3, besides, there will be time for sims 4, its not a bad idea to wait out all the bugs n stuff... if you like things like design and fashion, this is like playing house, on steroids! LOL! (dont do drugs :3) ... but seriously, i absolutely recommend this game for simmers as well as anyone who likes taking the time, anyone who likes to "level things up" and putting in the effort in learning how to play a new game, its alot to learn, but once you do, you will be able to play any sims game. if you do decide to get it add me, thanks.

Extremely addictive. The overwhelmingly best life simulator game series there is to date, this is a solid addition to The Sims game franchise. The only annoying thing is all of the expansions, but as The Sims 4 just came out, maybe the prices will drop on some of those. If you can't afford The Sims 4 and don't know if going back is worth it, trust me it is. This game is very fun, very addictive, and is overall just a great, memorable game.
