I absolutely love this game and I've wasted way too many hours playing it, but why does the DLC have to be SO expensive? Especially when considering that the next generation of the game has already been released. I understand offering additional content for a little extra, but The Sims 3 takes this way too far. Either make the expansions cheaper or offer more in each one, because they aren't worth $20 as they are now.

My sim was very sad when his friend Carl passed away, so I "resurrected" Carl as a ghost so we could still chill together like old times. But then the dude wouldn't leave. I mean, I know he needed a place to crash, and I was happy to let him sleep on my couch, but he was the worst ****ing houseguest ever. He ate all my food (I still haven't figured out how ghosts eat), left dirty dishes all over, broke my shower and hogged my computer.

And if that weren't enough, when I invited my girlfriend over for some quality woohoo time, Carl started flirting with her!! My sim went to bed alone, frustrated and ****ed off.

Thanks for nothing, Carl, you ****ing ****blocking dirtbag.

The Sims 3 is a fantastic game, with something for most gamers, and non-gamers alike. If you're an action geek, you probably won't enjoy the title, but most players who don't mind a casual experience will enjoy the game. Players who've played previous titles will find this incarnation the most fully featured yet. The experience has been great, and I have to recommend it highly to gamers and non-gamers alike, If your PC can run it, and you'd like to give playing games a revolution, this is the right title for you. If you're a gamer and you like games with a lot of depth, and open-ended gameplay, you'll probably enjoy the Sims 3 i've enjoyed my time with the Sims 3 for several days, so I have to give it very high marks for replayability. THE PART THAT I DISLIKE IS THAT THE LAUNCHER WONT START. BUT OF COURSE KEEP IN MIND THAT SIMS 3 NEEDS TO HAVE A HIGHER GRAPHIC CARD , BECAUSE I OFTEN HAVE THIS PROBLEM EITHER ITS "NOT LOADING, GAME LAUNCHER WONT START OR BLACK SCREEN INFRONT OF THE GAME OR CRASHING, i fixed it by reinstalling and restarting, i also recommend for fixing the "not loading launcher is by "DEPATCHING THE LATEST UPDATE" (this might only work for a few people out there)

This game has alot of possiblity's to it. Your imagination can go wild!
You can make pretty much anything! To a mansion! To even a robot (If your skill-full enough)
Althrough the DLC's are expensive as heck. This game sure packs a punch! It's totally worth it in my opinion.
The lag isn't that bad. If you complain about lag. It's probably your computer.

Overall. This game is definetly a 10/10 in my books! (ESPICALLY FOR A GAME MADE BY EA)

Love the game but learned that there are inevitable lag spikes that hinder my ability to play. Had I known that this was an issue I wouldnt have bought the game.

Its the sims...again. Over the years I've tried the different sims games, the graphics gets better, the interaction gets more varied but it really just boils down to a simple thing. It's your personal soap opera where you're the director.
The core components are basically the same with each sims version. Aging and other effects create a slightly different dynamic. Would I buy Sims 4? Only if it came in a bundle sale on steam and had smaller game save files. Do I have fun with it? Sure, but then I can have fun with a lot of simpler games. It's cheap to get if you grab the bundle on holidays and hours of play if you like Storytelling. Yes, its basically playing with a digital dollhouse or "action figures." Then again, most games are in the most basic sense the same concept of make believe and playing hero or bad guy.

Holy moly, I never thought the sims could get better, but when i got the base game i was absolutely blown away. i didnt last more than a few days without wanting to get all of the other packs to date (and i did just that) . pricey compiled, but so worth it if you are a simmer. not going to get the sims 4 just yet, i want to finish playing the sims 3 completely, with more than 700 hours put into it, the packs i have, and those that i have yet to get, im sure i will probably spend well over another 2 years playing happily on sims 3, besides, there will be time for sims 4, its not a bad idea to wait out all the bugs n stuff... if you like things like design and fashion, this is like playing house, on steroids! LOL! (dont do drugs :3) ... but seriously, i absolutely recommend this game for simmers as well as anyone who likes taking the time, anyone who likes to "level things up" and putting in the effort in learning how to play a new game, its alot to learn, but once you do, you will be able to play any sims game. if you do decide to get it add me, thanks.

I moved my Sims games over to Origin a long time ago. It's where they belong. I have no opinion on EA as a developer/publisher.

TS3, as it is called by it's players who identify themselves as Simmers, is aptly the third offering in the series. It offers total customization on evertything, which in hindsight stands as a development milestone that has no equal. It is an open world sandbox, where you can either try to do little goals presented by the game to have a little direction in your play, or totally go and do your own thing.

Wanna build a dinasty that stands the test of time over many generations? Go do it.
Wanna play fashion-designer and have avant-gardistic Sims populate your game world? Go do it.
Wanna mod your game into something totally different than what it was when you bought it? Go do it.
Right down to:
Wanna be a playah and impregnate every woman in town? Well... Go do it.

TS3 is many things. It's instantly playable, it's pleasingly colorful, it's quirkily humorous, it has some sweet tunes and you get unlimited customization and unlimited ways to play the Sims. Now that TS4 is out, it becomes painfully obvious how chockful of awesome ideas TS3 is and how amazingly optionfilled the player-agency in TS3 is.

So, what went wrong? Well, Maxis was busy coding SimCity and left development in the hands of an unproven studio that brazenly rebranded themselves into 'The Sims Studio' to hide the fact that they were called EA-of-Canada originally. With each new idea they implemented, they broke something and they even managed to break stuff that was broken to begin with. They patched and patched to little avail and to this day TS3 stands as one of the most innovative sandbox games ever, but more broken than the most broken Bethesda title in existence.

Still, in the current Sims-franchise landscape, TS3 is the one game to have. As a Simmer since 2000 owning everything that has 'The Sims' in the title, I can confidently say this. It expands on ideas introduced in TS2, it doesn't have bedtime-tale graphics and it allows the player to create their own stories and experience much better than TS4 allows.

Free from any consideration involving EA, TS3 is a good game and if you can keep it running long enough to make some self-generated progress, TS3 becomes one of the more enjoyable experiences you as a gamer can have. Open mind and all that goodness.

I therefore recommend trying this title, but don't buy it on here. Keep an eye on Origin Sales and buy the game there. Unless your Internet-full-of-yourself-ego bars you from doing that. I'm not the one to judge.

The Sims 3 is a great experiment in the simulated genre, and it's apparent that it'll stand up against its successors (e.g. Sims 4) it still reeks of the cash-grabbing tactics of EA, with over 20 expansions that just make it a point of overkill unless they're heavily discounted.

If you're a hardcore Sims fan, then you're already going to buy everything, but the fact remains that the create-a-texture option solves a lot of issues that EA would rather you pay money to solve in the form of completely new items.

Sims 3 gets a positive review, but just barely. It's enjoyment is hindered by how bogged down it is with expensive downloadable content that tries to sell itself as essential to an enjoyable experience one moment, and an experiment in caveat empor the next.

Very fun game. I love it. Originally I was going to go to Origins and get Sims 4. However, it required me to create an account of course and give credit card info, so I found that Sims 3 is on Steam. This is the best deviation from a plan that has happened to me. Good game EA.
