Why Early Access?

“Hyper Gods is planned to be made into a fully-featured PC/Console multiplayer experience. Right now, we have the main gameplay concept implemented and we want the community to provide us feedback on it.

Our main goal for the the Early Access programme is to improve the multiplayer component of the game. This means that the priority resides in ensuring that all ships and mechanics are well balanced and fair. This is where the community will play its part, providing input and feedback to help us deliver a fun, rewarding experience. We also would like to continuously improve our backend, so that players can have the most fluid gameplay, as the game is intended to be played.

We will also use this programme to experiment a bit with the gameplay concept and, with the communitty's feedback, continuously tweak it to be the best possible experience.

Because of all this, we believe that communication with the community is key to shape the future direction of Hyper Gods. As such, we believe that Early Access is a major tool for us to deliver the experience we have envisioned. Thank you for the support!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate Hyper Gods to be on Early Access for about 2/3 months. However, this period might change due to the nature of the feedback we receive.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Right now, the current features of Hyper Gods consist of:
  • Main gameplay concept
  • Local Multiplayer
  • Controller Support (Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 controllers are supported)

As we go further along in the Early Access programme, we plan to add several features, such as:

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the current moment the game is alpha regarding gameplay. This means that the main concept is implemented and we now need input from the players in order to fine tune and polish the experience.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features. This increase in price will be tied to the implementation of big features that radically increase the game's content (such as new online features). This model, we believe, will be fairer for the players, as if they don't get the complete, polished and balanced product, then they shouldn't be charged full price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community support will be paramount for crafting the game we have envisioned. As of this, we want players to be a part of every detail and feature we create. To do so, players will be able to communicate with us via forum, email and even reddit.

We aim to deliver updates at a very regular interval, in order to keep every area of the game as polished as possible.

Hyper Gods Update released: Welcome Back (ver. 0.5.0)

And we’re live! As promised, we’ve just released the newest update for Hyper Gods, the Patch Notes of which are below. Remember that we temporarily blocked the multiplayer modes and fully implemented a Singleplayer mode.

New update release date and the future of Hyper Gods

First and foremost, as you might’ve seen from our Facebook page, a new update is coming. Today, we can officially confirm that its release date is due right this week! This update is our biggest one yet, and contains many changes to the gameplay and feel of the game. The patch notes will further detail all the improvements that we've made. Below is a GIF of what you can expect in the patch. We sincerely hope you enjoy it.

Now, regarding the lack of recent news on Hyper Gods over the last few months, that is something directly related to this new update. As 2016 was ending, we analysed the state of the game and concluded that its quality was not in accordance with our standards and with what we wish to achieve. As such, we went back to the drawing board and redesigned many of the game mechanics which we thought were severely lacking. We all feel now that the soonly available iteration of Hyper Gods is miles better than the one currently available. Faster, more action packed and, above all else, fun.

To do this major overhaul of the game, we’ve also had to focus more and more on the Singleplayer components. So, in order to be able to bring you this update now, we’ve had to block the access to the local multiplayer modes, as they are still not yet ready for a public release. Nevertheless, this is a feature that will be coming back in a future update.

And speaking of the future, our plans are to come back to the more regular updates that we started this Early Access with. This first one will include, as soon as possible, a build with improvements to one of the components of the game that we’re still not happy with: the sound.
