How AI Invasion could be a pretty decent shooter end-up making such a bad game is beyond me. :(

✘ A Confused Space Shooter
Pre-Release, Early Access Review - Updated: December 30, 2015

TLDR: A space shooter that takes itself too seriously with no real objectives to make up the difference.

❤ Solid sound, especially during battles
❤ Space station graphics details are nice

✘ Mission update text disappears too quickly to read
✘ No voiceovers at all
✘ Static background with scrolling effects feels a bit nauseous and doesn't flow well
✘ Objectives are lackluster and provide no real sense of urgency or mission

I honestly was excited firing the game up, but immediately became overwhelmed by the frequency of mission text on the bottom of the screen and undewhelmed by the lack of real mission or objective. The tutorial starts you in a hanger, shows you the controls and 10 seconds later your station is attacked. You are then led on a series of short mini-mission objectives wherein you go through a few wormholes, dodge asteroids, fight a few stray enemies, and then it's on to the next mission.

If this game had minimal voice acting it would help tone the difficulty down to match the gameplay. If the game remarketed itself as a more intense shooter and less of an RPG-esque play style, I believe it would be successful. As it is now, however, not worth the space credits.

Score: 4/10
  • 1 hour campaign
  • 2 hour campaign + additional
  • 7-10 hour completionist (based around 5 star system)
  • Multiplayer: Leaderboards only
Gameplay: Let down by sluggish controls
Story: Minimal to the point of "next to none"
Graphics: Competent and cohesive. Some camera issues for me by not fixing view on character.
Playability: Some minor bugs, nothing game breaking.

A.I. Space Corps currently has many flaws, some of them really negatively impact on the gameplay experience.
This title can possibly be salvaged, but for the current amount of issues and lack of content with the price tag, I would avoid this for now.
Watch my review below for an in depth look, and feedback for the Devs to hopefully correct some issues. It is in Early access after all.

Made by creators of A.I. Invasion.

Not recommended to anyone. This is almost the same game like A.I. Invasion. The only difference is that you are not a man fighting against robots with your squad, but you control a space ship (one of three similar ships varying in speed 120/100/90% and HP 1000/1500/2000) fighting against another ships. You play alone (not with companions like in A.I. Invasion).

The controls are so bad that it doesnt fit universe environment. If you hold W, you are moving to the north. If you are holding W+A, you are moving northwest. If you press the key up, you are standing still at the moment. Devs didn't use any kind of vector, you cannot use your mouse heading for moving. Nothing. This makes the game so much arcade that it discourage you to play it. And if it doesn't, the fact, that after playing one minute long mission you have played about 17 % of campaign, will do. Asteroids flew on different layouts, but since this is top down view game, you dont know, which one will damage you and which will just fly through. Unless you aim each of them to show reticle. But the quantity is huge and you cannot focus only on destroying asteroids, because sometime you need to shoot on enemies too.

As I recommended A.I. Invasion to those who love the genre very much so they need to play another game, I cannot recommend A.I. Space Corps to anyone, even to those who love this genre. This has anything to do with space shooter game except the background picture.

Pretty good game, It's easy to play and not too hard, quite relaxing. Recommend to people who want to have a few hours of fun but don't want to get too serious.

[h]A Twin-Stick Shooter in Space[/h1]
+ Certain stages have great looking backgrounds
+ A variety of interesting levels
+ A mix of gameplay, it's not all just shooting sometimes you have to survive a barrage of asteroids, one mission you are stuck in a wormhole, etc.
+ A mix of special abilities like rockets, healing, and an electromagnetic field
+ You can upgrade your main gun with power-ups

This game is in Early Access so don't take these negatives too seriously
- The story is lacking, kind of hard to tell what the premise is besides "kill the A.I."
- Too much text dialogue during gameplay, it's very hard to read while shooting at enemies
- There's 3 ships but they vary "slightly" in movement speed, and shields... It would be neat if they each had unique abilities and weapons.
- Kind of lackluster endings to each level, it would be nice if there was some sort of reward or upgrade system for completing each mission.

I believe you can get a good game for the price. I paid less than $ 5 and had a few hours of fun so far. It is easy and fun. I highly recommend it.
