The Point of the game is to mine a endless piller of ore by pressing left and right arrow keys....and thats it....

Its a IPhone Game on PC, it can't even go to 1080P the only good thing about this game is that it runs at 60fps

Rip-off of Timberman that replaces the (more logical) tree trunks and branches with ore textures that look like they've been ripped straight from a 32x32 minecraft texture pack.

Probably the single most shallow title I have played on Steam, and while it's my fault for not double-checking: I'm more than a little sore that the trailer is cut in a way that makes it appear there may be competitive multiplayer when it is a single-screen, one-player, two-button game with absolutely no variability. The very first five moves will be identical to those an hour in, and nothing changes. Period.

There is even an identical product by the developer on Steam with a few sprites changed.

I can't refund someone else's gift, but I can warn as many of you away from playing a game that involves absolutely nothing but "taptaptaptaptaptap" over and over until boredom sets in, with no rewards or variables whatsoever.

Miner Mayhem is is a clone of the popular game Timberman.
It is one of the two clones of that game Anarchy Enterprises released on Steam. The other one is called Tiki Man. http://store.steampowered.com/app/376920/ Both of them lack all of the things that make Timberman an enjoyable game, including:
  • Local/Split-screen multiplayer
  • Online multiplayer
  • Achievements
  • Controller support
  • Trading cards, backgrounds, emotes
  • Steam cloud
  • Leaderboards
  • 16:9 resolution support
It's a lazy attempt to clone a popular game, with terrible Minecraft-like graphics.

My full review can be found here.

Let me tell you a story. A story of a miner - we'll name him George - who was bored of his regular mining life. He wanted tod o something different, something that most would even consider to be impossible. George wanted to dig into an infite pillar of ore! Oh but of course they told him no, because that's just silly! George would have none of it, and thus he started to have a Miner Mayhem.

Miner Mayhem is basically a clicker game where you need to move the mouse back and forth, avoiding the pieces jutting out of the ore, all while you try and get as high of a score as you can. Interesting in concept, and it does work... Just not in this game. A game like this desparately needs the ability to click both the right and left mouse buttons, not just the left. The sensitivity on where you can click got me killed more times than I can count. You can unlock additional skins for the miner depending on how you perform in the game, but that's all they are - skins. They don't do anything special or different for you.

Skip Miner Mayhem and go play better titles (like Timberman). Tell poor George that his dreams are hopeless, all thanks to the TOO minimal controls within his poor game. He also needs to not go after ore that looks like it is straight out of Minecraft, and if he really wants to then he should just go play Minecraft instead.

A Timberman Clone
Like Timberman you are chopping a tree, however this time the tree is made out of ores, braches are stone, and you use a pickaxe.

+ Same general appeal that Timberman has, it's more or less a race to mine as much as you can before the meter runs out while also trying to avoid running into the branches.
+ plenty of characters to unlock

- The gameplay is too simplistic, you just press left or right arrow
- More or less a mobile port
- Pretty much a clone of Timberman
- Doesn't make a whole lot of sense...you are basically mining a vertical tower of ores...

~ I feel like this game would be better if you were avoiding lava instead of cobblestone... it would make more sense especially considering that this game was influenced by Minecraft

Overall I'd say if you liked Timberman and want a different theme this is a good game for you, however I'd definitely recommend Timberman over this, and do not support the blatant copying of other games.

This is very lazy in developing game, it looks like very inspired from other game.
Chop (Woods) ores? That isn`t called "Chopping" thats "Mining" the ores.
Trees turn to Ores? What is this. Is this rip-off?
Ores is very inspired that it looks exactly like a stolen texture packs from Minecraft.

A $0.49 is just ok, but this just plain lazy, there`s no archievements and Steam Trading Cards.
There`s nothing to do other than collecting new miners.

You just have to Tap left and right. And thats it. Nothing else.
Complete devoid any sense of "fun" added to the sauce.

Had one last dollar left on my steam gift card and decided to buy this.

A little bit surprised this game made it on steam as even compared to free flash games, it really isn't very good. The game is repetitive and really rather silly.

I can imagine some people might try to get epic scores like you see in the trailer but I can imagine those people have a lot of free time and (hopefully) very few real life responsibilites. But no I can't really recommend it for most people. I probably had more fun writing this review than playing this game.

It does have some positives though, the pixel art is charming and the audio sfx is ok too.

This is clearly a one man development team behind this and considering that, it is not too bad... thing is even for a one man team, I can't imagine this took very long.

A neverending cycle of hitting them mines left and right, till you lose, rinse and repeat, as simple as that, it gets boring after a while, just a kind of game to play on occasions to pass time.

Miner Mayhem Review
Written by CheezyTheNerd

Review posted on - https://cheezythenerdblog.wordpress.com/reviews/steamreview-2/march2016/miner-mayhem-review/

Miner Mayhem is similar to a it’s sister game tiki man, made by the same company (Anarchy Enterprises) I spent a fair amount of time along with a video included on this game where I spent enjoying attempting to beat my high scores and unlock new characters to use. I will say for a cheap game it’s a great way to kill sometime and challenge your friends to beat your scores.

(My video review)

Game Review Gameplay / Graphics

The game play for miner mayhem is very basic. The games platform is a 1-D base platform where you stand still moving back and forth hit the ores in front of you. The way to hit the ores is simple you move back and forth using the arrow keys on the keyboard.

But there is a slight challenge to all of this, you have obstacles attempting to stop you from mining. But if you’re very careful and fast you can pass these obstacles, which will lead to mining faster and getting a much higher level.

When mining the blocks away to moving on the next objective you are timed by a bar with red inside of it. The slower you go the higher chance you have at failing the level. But if you’re capable of going faster without hitting any of the obstacles, going faster will keep the red bar full so the timer won’t run out. But once you slow down it will begin to drain extremely fast.

Now when most people see these types of games they wonder, what’s the objective to the ending of it? What makes us keep going. Well the developers in this game sadly couldn’t deliver achievements or badges so they did the next best thing possible. What’s that you ask? In-game store where you’re able to purchase different miners as you increase your levels and blocks hit. A small but cool little objective which was added.

In side of this shop / player skin area there are several different skins you can unlock. Now to properly unlock these skins you have one of two ways of unlocking them either A. Reach a high score or B. chop an insane amount of ore. Either way you’ll be playing for a long time to unlock some of the skins inside of the game!

Minery Mayhem was created by a group commonly known as Anarchy Enterprises. There website is covered in newer games they have created. They are also known for older games known as, Coffee Simulator and Moon Simulator. Along with its newer games Tiki man, Ant War and several other games.

I have not had to ability to speak with any said developers of this company which is sad because I would have liked to ask for other future games.

Overall Game Rating

When it comes to making games and keeping them going for years ahead are having the basics. Good content, achievements, objectives. This game is lacking a few of those things but still has a great concept behind it.
