Take One More Turn in Civilization VI

We’re excited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Civilization franchise by announcing Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, the next entry in the award-winning turn-based strategy franchise. Be sure to follow the Steam Community group here and add the game to your Steam wishlist!

http://store.steampowered.com/app/289070
Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, set to launch on PC on October 21, 2016, offers new ways to interact with your world, expand your empire across the map, advance your culture and compete against history’s greatest leaders to build a civilization that will truly stand the test of time. Your story begins later this year!

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI includes:

  • EXPANSIVE EMPIRES: See the marvels of your empire spread across the map like never before. Each city spans multiple tiles so you can custom build your cities to take full advantage of the local terrain.
  • ACTIVE RESEARCH: Unlock boosts that speed your civilization’s progress through history. To advance more quickly, use your units to actively explore, develop your environment, and discover new cultures.
  • DYNAMIC DIPLOMACY: Interactions with other civilizations change over the course of the game, from primitive first interactions where conflict is a fact of life, to late game alliances and negotiations.
  • COMBINED ARMS: Expanding on the “one unit per tile” design, support units can now be embedded with other units, like anti-tank support with infantry, or a warrior with settlers. Similar units can also be combined to form powerful “Corps” units.
  • ENHANCED MULTIPLAYER: In addition to traditional multiplayer modes, cooperate and compete with your friends in a wide variety of situations all designed to be easily completed in a single session.
  • A CIV FOR ALL PLAYERS: Civilization VI provides veteran players new ways to build and tune their civilization for the greatest chance of success. New tutorial systems are designed to introduce new players to the underlying concepts of Civilization so they can easily get started on a path to victory.

As an avid player of older strategy games, both real time and turn based (AoE and such) I find this really fun to play. Highly recommend downloading even more supplementary mods than the complete edition comes with and you'll find this awesome to play. Don't mess with Gandhi.

The fact that having over 100 hours in this game is generally considered as not really that much is a testament to how good it really is, and at 3 pounds this is easily one of the best purchases you will make as a Civ fan.

Just one more click. Just one more click. Just one more click. ......
The only thing I can do to stop me clicking one more time is deleting this game totally from my labtop.
I need to get some sleep right now since I don't know how many times I've been clicking.

By the way, this game might not be quite friendly to the modern computers(especially those with Windows system higher than 7).
It crashed several times during my play. Once it even crashed just right when I wanted to save my win result(sad...).

In one word, I love this game!

One of my favorite games. My only complaint is the steam version doesn't seem to allow you to continue playing beyond 2050. Still definetly worth the money (ONLY $5)

This game is complicated, difficult, frustrating, and oh my goodness so much fun. I think this is probably *the* gold standard for turn-based strategy games, even now, all these years later. I've tried later iterations of the Civ franchise, but /// is still my favourite. The 2D graphics are clear and very pretty. The mechanics are incredibly detailed and complicated, but also fit nicely together into a unified whole. The gameplay is fun, and the game always gives you plenty of different things to do -- without making you feel overwhelmed (well, at least once you get used to the basics). The interface gives you access to tons of information and lots and lots of options without ever feeling cluttered; in fact, on most of the screens you'll be seeing, the UI feels slick and very attractive, while still remaining effective. The game even has a lovely sense of humour -- the "you say you want a revolution?" bit always makes me smile. :)

In short, this is one of the very best computer games I've ever played, in any genre, and definitely the best strategy game. At this ridiculously low price, which includes all of the game's various expansions (including internet multiplayer, which still works very nicely and will lead to lots of fun and/or horribly frustrating gameplay time with friends), there is no reason not to snap it up.

Old but gold, Don't let the outdated graphics throw you off, both this and Alpha Centauri are two of the best civ games created.

Classic game. Always end up coming back to this version of Civilization. Mideval era is very slow, but the rest of the time I cannot stop clicking "next turn." My uncle let me first play this game when I was 12, and I've played on and off. I bought this on steam a while back and I still play when I got plenty of time to spare. Been playing for almost 9 years

I played this game when I was younger, and enjoyed it to the point that by the time I burnt the CD out - it was around the year 5000AD and me [Germany], America, Egypt, India were all that was left - Super states having had numerous nuclear wars. Europe had turned into a desert thanks to the global warming, America had conquered the entire Western Hemisphere, Egypt - all of Africa.

Our militaries had become so large, so advanced, and the nuclear wars so constant that we eventually found ourselves in a deadlock - slowly starving, rotting away with the time. Our capitals had long been wiped away - eventually, wars were no longer profitable, the resources had run out.

I played that game until the CD had finally quit on me, determined to see the end of the world. Compared to today, it may not be as flashy anymore - but Civilization III is the best of the series, Civilization IV comes at a close second, but things were removed and added in the later installments that made one feel like they had lost a bit of the original game. I've since rebought it, and I'm already at 1,797.6 hours.
