Basic and unpolished, driving is ok but not great either. Decent as an homage game and a first attempt at a commercial game (unsure if the dev has made anything else so might be wrong) if you don't run into any game breaking bugs.

Basic premise is:
  • get a car and weapons
  • work as a courier to earn reputation
  • duel in the arena to get money
  • get wrecked and start again

However, the game is poorly balanced. Arena tiers are gated by reputation with the bottom rank available to any reputation but ONLY IF you have no car and less than $4000 in bank (otherwise can't enter since the idea is you can then buy a car and do jobs). Jobs are randomised but also gated by reputation. When you die you lose all reputation and have to re-start your climb.

I am now unable to play because of these gameplay elements. I got wasted, bought an expensive car and weapons, however because of the randomisation there are no jobs available for my reputation. Because I have a car I can't enter the bottom rank of arena (not that it gives reputation anyway), and I can't sell my car. I can't even get killed to re-start again.

There we go, game lacks proper testing resulting in game-breaking edge cases.

The author has got his inspurations from legit sources like Death Rally, Interstate'76 and GTA1 and the mix is not so bad, just there's not enough of presentation and it is all made up on Unity engine. That's why it only manages to reach the level of free browser gaming fun: there is no story and/or intermission art, runs start suddenly and finish abruptly, maps are flat and look alike, flamethrower animation is horrid. If you could tolerate such primitivism then you look at a nice car-shooting rogue-lite.

Yep, reminds me quite a bit of Autoduel. I've been waiting a long time for someone to get around to this.

I would urge the developer to check out another similar game, Mexican Motor Mafia. I think each game has its strengths, but the car driving in MMM is a bit more fluid.

Worthy of $3 easily. I hope you keep working on this. It'd be interesting to see more Car Wars stuff incorporated, like wheel damage, more Uncle Alberts weapon insanity, perhaps a mini-map during missions (install radar on the car?) etc. I'd prefer a bit nicer vehicle handling with skids, fishtails, and such as well. Hey, you're 90% of the way there - so go for it dude.

At a dollar or in a bundle it is pretty fun, but you will be very frustrated if you hope to progress easily. It takes a long time to move forward since you will lose alot of cars.

A Baby's First Game at a way too high price, with questionable design, tons of bugs, and a restocking system reminiscent of a clicker game -- after every mission, I have to clickclickclick to buy new armor, fuel, and ammunition, and if I forget any I'm royally screwed. Every single mine I want to drop or rocket I want to fire in the upcoming level requires an extra click. Carpally unjolly.

Made sure I finished the game (no spoilers, BTW), and even earned all the achievements.

First of all, the presentation of design is lacking. Of course, it's just a car game in entirely 2D top down. Though on the bright side, controls are not that hard to use. But as a person with a thing about repetition and cliches, it's the most cheapest control design that can be made by anybody. Final thing about design, it's entirely a game developed by beginners.

But underneath this beginner-made game is its uniqueness. The gameplay is enjoyable at least. I enjoyed running from point A to B. Kinda because I often play delivery guy. The AIs were easy to deal with too. At least they aren't impossible to take down. Did a lot of grinding for 10-30 minutes so I was able to get far and proceed towards the end of the game. I used every tactic of what a player would do in a top-down (car) shooter game.

Of course there are several things I would've expected while I was busy trying to finish this game. That problem was: No conveniences, such as saving armor least that's the only thing I would've expected.

For a game at a beginner's level, I'd say it's worth my 3 and a half-hours of finishing this entire game. These guys may have potential for their future game development plans.

Personal Notes: The armor system reminded me of Darkwind.

Rubber and Lead

-Genre: RPG, Shooter, Races.
-Theme: Postapocalyptic.
-Mode of view: Top Down.
-Singleplayer: Yes.
-Local multiplayer: No.
-Online multiplayer: No.
-Sandbox: No.
-Aproximated duration: -
-Recommended age: +5.

-The gameplay is simple but entertaining. You shoot cars, scavenge them and go to the end of the map.
-There is progression; you can buy weapons, cars, ammo.
-There are skills that make you to progress even if you don't win.

-There are not many mission types. More or less all of them are the same, so that makes the game a bit boring.

im sure you can find this free flash game somewhere online. The game is easy and short if you dont lose you car, but if you do lose your car, you pretty much start all over from the start. Found it interesting how you have to manage your ammo, gas, and car armor

Pretty bad game really, although to be fair not as bad as originally thought. It's a kinda tedious top-down car combat game. Gets repetitive pretty quick. For a game with similar graphical style but way better try GTA 1 or 2.

This game is very reminiscent of Autoduel, for those old enough to recall that classic. As compared, there are far fewer weapons and vehicles, and the game ends more quickly unless you really make a point of playing it out.

For those unfamiliar with older games, this is a simple, top-down, 1-player shooter with a slow-it-down button (not quite bullet time, but close), which I never used after figuring out what it does, which is: lets you see what the AI does, and presumably learn to target with missiles.

~Fast, easy to learn, simple controls
~Clear concept and good execution
~Fast-paced game with very little downtime; it's easy to go from one mission to the next very quickly
~Between missions repair time is point-and-click easy
~Achievements are pretty straightforward, mostly having to do with things you'll do in the game anyway
~Road salvage of defeated enemies!

~No vehicle template/fast repair function; you have to repair/customize your vehicle after each fight to repair armor and buy ammo
~Slow reputation advancement if you fight only arenas

Each city you visit offers two or more things unique to that location, or limited to certain cities:
1.) An achievement for the first time you get there (no ingame effect)
2.) An ingame interaction unique to that location (custom shop, bar scene, border smuggling, etc)
3.) New weapons (a total of 8 or so, including guns and rear weapons/defenses)

The unique missions/sites are worth doing, as you might make some money or have a chance to get a car upgrade, but you might have something bad happen, too. I suggest having your car fully repaired/rearmed before accepting the border smuggling mission... In any case, it's worth it for the flavor. As for the custom shop, it's a place you can apparently visit with every new car you buy, and cars are fairly cheap, so if one gets a bad mod result you can choose to sell it and take another back again.

A full playthrough can probably be accomplished in... 4 hours or so, give or take, but there is some replay value in testing out different vehicles, learning different skills, and seeing the various mods available (I found 8 so far, I think, both positive and negative).

A fun little game, worth its $5 base price, and definitely a good buy on sale; I hope to see more from this developer along these same lines, hopefully with a bigger story and a little bit more detail and content.

Drive around the same boring brown dirt/desert maps shooting other vehicles. Thats the entire game. The camera is way too close up and you can barely see anything around you. Salvaging of each vehicle you kill, an essential part of the game, takes like 20 seconds each time, for no good reason other than wasting time. Combat is terrible, as cars fly around you super fast and your car will randomly get stuck and be slow to speed up or turn. Controlling it is a chore, and its even worse trying with a controller. After each mission you need to refuel armor, gas, weapons, etc, leading to a ton of clicking and repetition. Too many things to manage and constantly be rebuying, which leads to annoyance rather than fun. On one mission I bought a flamethrower and apparently it had no fuel, of which wasn't explained to me, and was hard to tell with the convoluted terrible UI with a bunch of stuff in tiny text all over the place. So all I had was a machine gun in the front. In that case fighting is ramming someone and holding down attack while you sit there stuck to them. I died and lost my car, all my weapons, and didn't have enough money to buy a new one. Which in this game means if you die you lose all progress and need to restart game from the beginning, a terrible system with the awful combat and bad UI. Since the death wasn't my fault and the game is just boring repetition of bad AI and salvaging 10 vehicles at 20 seconds each, I found no reason to continue this pooper of a game.

Garbage controls, no variation in maps, and a cumbersome menu are just a few of the issues that plague this terrible "game." Controls are very sluggish and the maps look exactly the same for each job. There is no way of knowing how close you are to the finish line. You also need to waste time and keep buying ammo and armor after every job. Also, if you end up failing a job, you have to buy a new car (which isn't cheap), so you may be wasting your time just recuperating money from one failed mission. Not to mention the assortment of bugs such as getting stuck on the end of another car or rock.

A game from 1985. Sold for roughly 5 dollar.
Back in the time it didn't even cost that much...
