Why Early Access?

“We want to go Early Access to see how the community likes and reacts to our current version of Lucid Trips and to collect feedback on how people want to experience, explore and interact in our Gameworld.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan on having Lucid Trips in Early Access until Q4 2017 or at the longest 9 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to extend the features in the menu and the interaction through the asynchronous multiplayer which we just implemented. We want to work on the creation tool and have additional challenge categories like - "smart energy" (seeker found all treasures while using least thrusting energy from the flame) or "least ground contact" (seeker finished the challenge with least steps on the ground).”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In our current build the user can either explore the gameworlds freely with our unique locomotion method or take the asynchronous mulitplayer mode in which the player can set up or take challenges. For setting up a challenge the user is hiding little treasures in the gameworld and leaves traces while doing so. When the player takes a challenge he is the "seeker" and supposed to collect the hidden treasures. He can do that best while following the traces the "hider" left. A challenge can be set up in the category "shortest distance" (seeker did the shortest distance over the planet while collecting all treasures). At the moment you die and respawn when you enter the water.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may change when we leave early access”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We would love to collect feedback and ideas from the community. We like to hear everything they don´t like and could be done different so we can react to a consensus. It would be great to hear what is most fun for players so we can push these features further. If it´s feedback you wish to discuss directly with the dev team it´s best to write an email to feedback@lucidtrips.com otherwise we do our best to react to discussions in the forum.”

Easter update [v0.65]

Our first big update is all about the feedback we've gotten from our users. We hope you'll like it. Happy Easter!

[Climbing is now possible]
You can grab nearly everything to pull yourself up. This provides a much better control over the avatar. But note that climbing is only possible if the player has enough energy. Energy can only be refilled on the ground now.


[Exploration Mode]
Explore and find some gems here. More quests will come.


[New user challenge modes]
Time, ground contacts, energy and arcade mode will make the user challenge more diverse and attractive.


[Longer glides]
We changed the aerodynamics to enable longer glides.


[Distinguishable contrails]
If you carefully observe you can now differ whether a contrail is made by you or made earlier.


[Settings]
We added some setting options.


[Trigger button only]
Grip button is legacy. You can use the trigger button for all interactions.


[General bugfixes & improvements]
We aren't saying that there aren’t any glitches or bugs anymore ;)

About This Game

Lucid Trips is a VR experience which takes places in planetary dream worlds. You float and fly as a bodyless consciousness with two ghost-like arms.

Warning:
1.) Lucid Trips is based on an experimental locomotion concept which can cause discomfort for some people. There is a comfort level which you can turn up and down by clicking right and left on the touchpad. 7 is maximum comfort with max particles in your view and vignette reaction. If you use Rift please steer to either site and press the thumb button to change the comfort level. Max recommended playtime for beginners 15 min.

2.) Since this is a 'sitting experience' Steam VR will fade out the Chaperone automatically after some seconds.Please be aware of this when playing standing.

Known bugs:

When creating challenges for other players this mode still has some bugs. Hiding gems sometimes won’t work properly. (f.e. No gems in Inventory, no “place here” area projected)

If you haven’t recentered yourself with pressing and holding the menu button the game menu sometimes shows up with a wrong orientation to you. Please always recenter first.

Slightly decreased performance when using Oculus Rift & Touch via Steam compared to HTC Vive.

Some physic bugs/anomalies.

Occasionally crashes in SteamVR menu if Vive camera is activated.

The Chaperone disappears when using Vive with a sitting or standing experience. We show a warning every time you recenter so you remember and make sure you avoid hurting yourself or your hardware. (This is not a bug)
